PNCL Files Chapter 11

send us with the planes?

There is precedent for out of order furloughs (eagle) it would be a hard fight for them to get that.

I almost see them trying to get the isl tossed, or at least the award conditions, as that doesn't require any modification the the jcba. Jcba requires a single list, if the court won't give seniority based furlough relief, I expect they would see attempted separation of the lists as a way to get around the "no out of order furloughs" via technicality.

If the mec proposed out of sen. Furloughs to save fences, 9l pilots could/would sue the union for biased representation... And would likely win. The combined mec cannot treat any pilot differently because of his pre isl certificate. They must stand for equal rights of each pilot, regardless of where they sit, so they can only advocate for seniority based furloughs.

It's a very tricky time, the union, and the company need to be carefully, so you won't see much from either group.

The training backlog off a displacement award this large would be huge. You would have pilots at pay sitting for a long, long time.

I've got a gut feeling that the company will try to send the pilots, training dept, manual and cert. to the "new owner". That's prob. The cheapest way for the company to wind down the q. 6 months is a fair amount of time to make that transition. That saves them nearly 400-600 training events etc, doesn't require them to try to break the furlough order, and save the purchasing airline/operator from having to train and staff nearly 30new planes.
I think you just summed up this whole mess, well done sir!

Regardless this sucks, but I don't think it would be a bad thing for colgan pilots to not deal with the pncl suck anymore.

I dont think united has a say where they go. United doesn't own them. Export development Canada and the creditors do now.

Totally and completely inappropriate post. Remember the decimation in little freight a few years ago. You never know when it will be your turn.

Good luck to the ~740ish out the door, and the balance left with a sack of crap.

Chill out. You fed me this same crap during that time with just a role reversal. Plain and simple there is no job security anywhere in this profession. Good luck to all you guys, I hope for the best.

Did you guys notice that the article in Canada referenced only 28sane Qs? -2 that were sold and leased back ( should have been an obvious indication of liquidity and cas flow problems). Number 31 is the "white tail" N31 WQ.

If somebody like skywest purchased them as a charge off etc, Colgan would still have to "return"them.

I'd say selling the ticket/ fully running operation would go a good ways to make the creditors happy. What did we sell for the first time, 10 mil? Plus the planes now ( as sum edc will buy the ones we own, and lease to the new owner) I think we have 74 mil outstanding to shareholders, 74 to delta now, and 5? To other sources? Sell off of the Qs, the company, and 400 pilots goes a long way towards reducing costs and covering that debit...

Paid in full!

I saw that too, and have the same question. Where the hell are those airframes going??

Somebody with the Dash 8 on their certificate already, so they can pick up flying them quick, if United wants to keep them flying in the system. That limits them to, Horizon, Commutair, Piedmont, or Republic. My money is on Republic.

Man, I hate to hear about this..

If there is anything I can do for any 9E/XJ/9L pilot, I'll do it.

In any event....going to be some seriously unhappy pilots wherever us Colgan redheaded stepchildren thof the airline industry wind up. Going to be ugly no matter what, but Republic is the most logical using the Lynx certicate

I heard the guy that edged me out of Carter lasted less than 6to months...heard your old Excel skipper is a real screwdriver...

one question though is can RAH get enough new pilots to staff them? They are all ready obviously struggling to get pilots for their current flying.

Horizon is going to purchase Colgan, and all ya'll gonna come fly with me...after you get stapled of course.

I'm obviously joking! If out of left field we did get Colgan...I'd be more than happy. The ones on here I've gotten to know would be a pleasure to fly/work with.

For those who will get furloughed, we are planning on hiring for the remainder of the year. I'll gladly help out!

Keep your heads up, eyes open and fly safe.

Prayin'for ya'll.

Told ya this was him............

I can't see Republic picking it up, they quickly parked the 400's Lynx was operating after buying Frontier.

They still operate them. Yes, they moved certificates, but they still have them. Couldn't they just hire a bunch of these guys that got furloughed? Yes, not everyone will take that, but I'd imagine at least a portion will take a job.

Going to Skywest.... I'm sure they'll be looking for sim instructors and such. Maybe some preferential interviews like Colgan offered Chicago express peeps back in the day...

United's going to want then to go to a partner they have a good history with and Skywest has been heard on Q400 conference calls...

hey i hadn't said anything yet in the thread just checking in. good luck to all and long live monkey pizza cutters

or something.

Here's my guess.

It was announced that they're going to a current United Express affiliate.

The airlines that fly for UAex are:

Cape Air
CHQ
Colgan
CommutAir
XJT
gojets
Mesa
Shuttle
Silver
Skywest
TSA

My guess is either Skywest or C5. I have heard some arguments from both sides, it will be interesting to see what happens.

I just wish this wasn't even an issue to be discussed. Really sucks. Has there been any talk of Colgan guys going with the planes? Isn't that in the JCBA?
