Continental (Colgan Q400) flight 3407 Newark to Buf. 48 dead, 44 pax 4 crew. man, I don't know what to say. unreal.

I really don't know anything you guys don't already know, but thankfully it's no one from JC but it doesn't sound like there are any survivors. :(

Just listened to the tape...

My heart and prayers go out to the crew, passengers and their families.... :(

Also well wishes to the well being of the ATC and other pilots on frequency.

Extremely sad listening to the last comms with the pilots. A lot of icing reports...

Yes, that is on final for 23. I was just in that area, about 10 minutes prior, driving home from work. Unbelievable. RIP.

Weather was horrible today with high sustained winds/gusts, rain, and then switching over to a slushy accumulation. Temperature was around 32 at time of crash.

What terrible news. It's highly likely many folks on JC will know some of the crew as Qgar has already confirmed. I am very sorry for your losses. RIP to all aboard. :(
