Pinnacle has reached a TA!!!

Oh, I already voted in the recall balloting. I like the new on-line voting. Phone voting wasn't too hard, but this is even easier. There's NO excuse for guys to put off voting anymore.

As for the lack of RA/LOAs in Oct, I think it's two fold: #1 our block hours are going back up. Hell, we already had 1400 CA and 990 FO hours of open time in Sept, and we LOST 3000 block hours across the board. They may be trying to bring staffing back around to cover for "increase in unplanned absences" thanks to the new DAL pass "benefits" we've got. #2 They're anticipating the TA passing and having a DOS of Oct 1st. However, that doesn't really fly since bidding and schedules would already be done for Oct. TA may suck, but it DOES mean they'll need more people to staff things. The one issue that bugs me is the clause in the dual qual LOA that says 3-4 crews per airplane. That's thinner than ANY other regional out there, but I wouldn't put it past this place to furlough down to that number to save $0.05.

Joe, you may have the "our flying" right, but it's likely coming from a Comair guy rather than a Mesaba guy. That's my sad take on the situation. We never flew LGA-TYS before this merger, and that's all I'm gonna say.....

You are correct, but Comair never flew DTW - hsv, gso, pwm, grr, cmh, day, bhm before this merger either. I feel horrible about what has happened to Comair but Delta is moving people everywhere.

It's so tough in this biz, and with a big pilot group, to keep on top of everyones issues. People need to be more involved with their union I think. Which has been said many times on this thread, don't mean to preach to the choir all the time, just a reminder.

People do need to get involved.

However, the leadership structure at most unions need to keep in mind that it should be a system of "reluctant heros", volunteers and a "bottom to the top" orientation.

You should be dragged kicking and screaming into elected positions so you can do what's right, rather than what's politically expedient to stay in power. Can't tell me how good a contractual provision is if you're also not also living under it like the average Joe. Can't walk into a room, walk out with a paycut and tell me how that steamy yellow-orange liquid on my shoe shine is just warm apple juice.

Oops, I let some of my own aggravations with my own union slip out! DOH!

Yeah what's with the Airlink flying out of LGA???? I think Comair is the only DCI (Delta South) carrier doing Airlink flying. Welcome to NYC!:D I can't wait till SOC and it's all DL/DCI flights on one res system.

So I'm curious.

I admit I haven't been following this thread...

What were the circumstances that the TA suddenly came about?

Did management shift on a position, etc?

I just read a newsbot post in my email about Pinnacle stock jumping.

Perhaps this TA was a bid to pump the stock price?

I love how our crew page has a new addition.... a stock tracker with an up to date PNCL stock to what seems like the minute.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Wonder if that means we're going to be receiving a number of shares per year of service!?! That's nice of them to include us in the profit of our labor. :rotfl: As if that'd ever happen!

Keep up all the hard work guys.....it's paying dividends for the powers-that-be. Sure, we can all BUY shares...decide to risk our already poor compensation on airline stock and risk losing it all. Guess when you don't start w/ much, you can't lose much either.

Well do you guys think its going to pass? The union message board had about 400 votes or so and got over 70% no. That means if everyone on that board voted the no votes are only going to need a couple hundred people to vote no for the majority.

Honestly, I don't know. Until the bonus structure came out, I thought it was gonna eek by. Then there was anger at that. Now, that anger is starting to calm down, and I'm hearing a lot of "I need my check, I don't care how little it is" and FOs are talking about potential lost income on the hourly wage side if it takes us another year or more. I really can't fault any FO for voting "yes" due to financial strain. In that situation it's hard to look at the long term if you're having trouble making rent. It's a totally toss up IMO. I think the "poll" on the board is skewed, though. I'd also wager some of those people that voted "no" have since changed their minds. I know of at least 3 off the top of my head that fall into that category. We'll know shortly after 9 AM CDT tomorrow.

I think that the most important thing for us is that after the vote is announced we need to go back to being a unified pilot group no matter the result of the vote.

I agree. Now that the vote is done, we need to collect info for the NC to take back to the company so they can say "Fix these sections and we'll try again."

If you believe the ACP in MEM, we're gonna furlough now. At least, that's what he's been telling everyone will happen if the TA failed.

Did it fail or are you just expecting it to?

Quoting my own sig:

"No!" to this TA!!

Thank you fellow Pinnacle guys, for standing up to the doomsday and fear mongering. Now lets get back to the table and get a real TA to us.
