Passenger Bill of Rights - huge issue here

Had my first flight cancel as a result of this two days ago in Vegas. Unfavorable winds required us to use 25R and atc said it would be two hours minimum to accomodate our request...whoop...back to the gate.

Deregulation achieved its goal- the lowering of prices for consumers. In addition the number of airline jobs has grown as airline travel exploded with cheaper fares. There has been a down side for the inefficient airlines (many are now gone), and for unions which never really absorbed the reality of deregulation- but deregulation was not done for the workers or for the airlines. It was done for the consumer.

His alternative path, perhaps doing work for ALPA, is ultimately doomed because he can't grow a worthy stache.

...and right there is proof of the community of the site.

Only meeting John in person can one say if that is true (which it is...seriously dude, put mayo on your beard every night. it'll help) or not.

Never met John actually...but had a delightful dinner with his wife and she told me about having to pluck his three whiskers every couple of weeks.

Your post is correct, but I would add one thing. You mentioned that the number of "airline jobs" has grown, and that is true, but the number of good airline jobs has plummeted off the chart.

Don't burn fuel, and you tell the passengers 'tough crap' its the weather (ie. act of god) and presto, passengers stay on their own dime for three days.

Happened to me Monday at JFK. Flight cancelled for "weather." Really? Then why are Jet Blue and DL not cancelling to the same city...

American did eventually reissue the ticket on Delta for me, but it took me 2 hours to convince them.
