Pan Am back... Again.

Airlines only
Didn't include trains helicopters, and whatever else the logo's been plastered on.

Worst thing ever for NE railroading. CSX purchased what right-of-way remained and have invested heavily in long-deferred maintenance.

As for “why,” I’m it was a complete joke from a consumer perspective. Mom flew a couple times between BOS and HPN, or tried to. She never was able to make a round trip, so it was drive the 16 hour RT to get her home and the last time was the final straw. It wasn’t reliable enough to book ex them🤷‍♂️

I wonder if I could start a Pan Am [Plural Nouns] business outside of transportation, and market it lightly enough that it'd get investors.

"Pan American Pepsi Co, for all your Pepsi Blue Memories!"

Eh, nah.

Pan Am Coffee Tea Co maybe?

I'll keep giving it some thought. This time, things will be different!

Or a car company and sell the Pan Am Trans Am
Burt Reynolds was cool, Trans Ams were cool until Smokey and The Bandit. It's not his fault, that's one of the darkest eras for American automobile manufacturing. Times have changed and perhaps reviving the Pontiac brand and building a modern Trans Am would work. The car was named after a race series from the '60s where "stock" cars competed on road courses all over the country. Then you can build a hyper car and and call it the Can Am, another race series from back then with almost no rules for purpose built race cars, there were cars that had huge literal vacuums to hold them onto the track. It was a different time.

I flew on Pan Am Version 3 in 2000. They had two 727s at that point... assuming both were actually able to get off the ground on a given day. When I flew them they were flying Pease to Pittsburg to Sanford, and Bangor to Gary to Sanford. I was supposed to go Pease to Pit and back, but ended up going Pease to Bangor to Pit, and then on the way back a few days later did Pit to Gary to Bangor to... broke down and took a bus to Pease. I think that's probably the last 727 I rode on as a passenger. Hitched a ride on a few Fedex 727s in the jumpseat once I started working 121.
