As for “why,” I’m it was a complete joke from a consumer perspective. Mom flew a couple times between BOS and HPN, or tried to. She never was able to make a round trip, so it was drive the 16 hour RT to get her home and the last time was the final straw. It wasn’t reliable enough to book ex them

I wonder if I could start a Pan Am [Plural Nouns] business outside of transportation, and market it lightly enough that it'd get investors.

Burt Reynolds was cool, Trans Ams were cool until Smokey and The Bandit. It's not his fault, that's one of the darkest eras for American automobile manufacturing. Times have changed and perhaps reviving the Pontiac brand and building a modern Trans Am would work. The car was named after a race series from the '60s where "stock" cars competed on road courses all over the country. Then you can build a hyper car and and call it the Can Am, another race series from back then with almost no rules for purpose built race cars, there were cars that had huge literal vacuums to hold them onto the track. It was a different time.
