Opnions on Flight Express

Aww dude, no more WHP? What happened?? Dusty ask you to pick his nose for him or something?

Nah. I got tired of wondering if I'd make it back to the airport on every single flight I took. It's also hard to teach someone how to do it the right way, when they don't want it tought that way.

If you are wondering about the current life at FLX. I have worked pre & post Bayside. It's ok. We are more focused on money now than ever. We used to have runs on charter because we couldn't fill those slots. People were being hired at the airlines with less time that we, just like everybody else. Now we have a full staff and for the first time in 2.5 years I have standby days. Standby days for us allow us to sit standby near or at home and still get paid for your run. The company can call you in but for the most part it serves as a day for you to get stuff around the house done that cannot be gotten done on the weekends. I have been working 13.5-14 hour days during most of that time. Oh well.

The equipment has not be upgraded(I saw a C208 that Airnet flies and it had a GNS430). I know that equipment is not everything but it can make a big difference. On the run that I am on I get paid more by being paid hourly than by duty rig. Seriously. People at FLX are pretty happy, we hear a lot of the same rumors that every other company in the freight industry hear. We are losing runs, companies are downsizing, banks are switching to digital stuff. I have the same run post-Bayside as pre-Bayside. I know that in CPS we have no runs that used to be Airnets. I have nothing but respect for Airnet current and former pilots. I wish the best for them and if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

My discontent with Flight Express is they are cheaper product then Airnet so many of my friends lost their jobs because they cost more. If that kinda thing happened in a few forums up there would be pitch forks and torches out.
That ain't no joke. If a FLX pilot ever asks to jumpseat on my plane, he ain't gettin it....Friggin scabs.....:sarcasm:

You.

You are a winner. You win this thread. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I love this thread now.

Well, Mike's right, if this thread was in a couple sections up, it would be an all out war between pilot groups. And you know what, I'm really not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing anymore.

Do I dislike the pilots of Flight Express because they fly some airnet runs....not necessarily. Do I think it's ridiculous that flight express has run at least two batches of classes while Airnet has recalled zero....absolutely.

:yeahthat: I can't speak for all the other furloughies, but I'm anxious to get back to work.

Notice the adult-ness of the post, folks. See, you can be disgruntled and be older than 6. Just sayin.

posting half drunk so I am not responsible for what I say...

but you don't NECESSARILY dislike some guys because some evil suits gave flying to their company that used to be yours? It shouldn't even be a question. we're all button pushing wage slaves, just doing what we're told. is that how it should be? I think not. but it has nothing to do with the flx pilots.

Wow. I guess this isn't just a regional airline problem; it runs across the board. Sad.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I don't think anyone has accused FLX pilots of doing anything wrong. The fact that Flight Express is running classes while Airnet is shrinking IS BS, and I think that's the point people are getting at. I've said it many times that I personally have nothing against FLX pilots, they've got families to feed also, and they've got do to what they're told. But I think a very good point is being made that if you take the Airnet/Flight Express story and compare it to, let's say TSA and GoJet, there's a lot of general similarities, and if the freight world was anything like the regional world, people would be grabbing torches and pitchforks, we'd be damning FLX pilots to hell, and playing the "you can't ride in my jumpseat" game.

In all fairness we did lose quite a few pilots this month (for a company as small as us) I'm not sure about system wide but we have only gained two runs in St. Louis recently, but that is still no growth do to two others that we lost last month.

I don't know a whole lot about the company. From what i've read on here there are lovers and haters as in every company out there. I'm a furloughed TSA guy who cussed the heck out of Go Jet when they started hiring right out of our(TSA) own house. So I know Flight Express is taking runs from AirNet but honestly I need to make a living and with a wife and a baby on the way FLX here I come. Good thing my wife is willing to move anywhere we need to. Starting class on OCT 12. If any other JC'ers are too let me know and i'll see you there.

You may need to know the company they are taking it from. However, I wouldn't be able to function either before 8a.m. :)

Hey there. I fixed it, my bad. I knew it was AirNet but it was early and I don't think my brain was fully awake yet. Haha. I am hoping to get the overnight runs. If I have to get up at 3 am for work I'll be a very angry person.

FLX is pretty well all over the board times of the runs depending on the base. But unfortunately the odds are fairly good that at some point at least you will probably do a very early morning run.
