If you are wondering about the current life at FLX. I have worked pre & post Bayside. It's ok. We are more focused on money now than ever. We used to have runs on charter because we couldn't fill those slots. People were being hired at the airlines with less time that we, just like everybody else. Now we have a full staff and for the first time in 2.5 years I have standby days. Standby days for us allow us to sit standby near or at home and still get paid for your run. The company can call you in but for the most part it serves as a day for you to get stuff around the house done that cannot be gotten done on the weekends. I have been working 13.5-14 hour days during most of that time. Oh well.
The equipment has not be upgraded(I saw a C208 that Airnet flies and it had a GNS430). I know that equipment is not everything but it can make a big difference. On the run that I am on I get paid more by being paid hourly than by duty rig. Seriously. People at FLX are pretty happy, we hear a lot of the same rumors that every other company in the freight industry hear. We are losing runs, companies are downsizing, banks are switching to digital stuff. I have the same run post-Bayside as pre-Bayside. I know that in CPS we have no runs that used to be Airnets. I have nothing but respect for Airnet current and former pilots. I wish the best for them and if you have any questions feel free to PM me.
