I think the consencus is CTI is a waste of time/money.

That was PUBNAT 6 right? (closing 8/29)... you probably won't here something for 1-2 months.

TOL - Tentative Offer Letter (you receive at your PEPC)
FOL - Final (firm) Offer Letter (once your background, medical, psych, drug, blah blah blah have come back complete and clear)
PUBNAT - Public National Announcement. Check what you applied for in ASAP it should say PUBNAT6 in the announcement number
PEPC - Pre Employment Processing Center. This is the one day event that you'll travel to in order to knock out your background, medical, drug, psych, interview, etc etc etc, so you don't have to do them one at a time over the course of many days/weeks.
OTS - Off The Street... no prior experience or CTI

Yes, I'm PUBNAT6. I looked at the announcement number and found what you were talking about. I noticed a lot of people talking about geographical preferences letters, etc. Did all of you guys also submit preliminary geo preferences with your application? For mine I was able to select 10 different cities from drop-down boxes. My top preference BY FAR is ZKC (Kansas City Center). Then Kansas City TRACON, then Tower, then anywhere in Kansas. I'm encouraged because I'm not seeing a lot of other people with that geo pref, so maybe they're in need of people. :rolleyes:

I believe ZKC is taking people fairly regularly... You may want to private message KindaRadley... I think that's where he's going. He lives in Olathe too. I lived in the big O.P. before I moved to TX.

I don't think I know what that means. Is that going to take a while? Do you have any insight on what that entails that you could share with me? Or is that what you were talking about when we spoke about the 1 person being put in charge of Terminal dates? I am just trying to feel out if this wait will be extended for more days, weeks or months. Sorry to be a bother, I know you guys are doing what you can with what is given to you. I am just so anxiously awaiting to begin. Although, it has been about 13 months since I applied so I am no stranger to waiting at this point. So goes life.

I am sooooo glad I was not the only one who thought that! and FYI I say Hopefully WE will get the answers soon. We are all in this mess together! I'm at least happy to hear that he is still alive and kicking! :panic:is right!!!!!

It took all of my will power to keep from responding....Eeeeh...Wrong answer! ha ha ha...that would not have gone over very well....:rolleyes:
 
The saga continues.... stand up their new training strategy?!?!? :banghead: It must be the element of surprise as to when you start academy training because FOLs are trickling in for people who attended PEPCs this summer, some are even being asked if they can report to OKC within hours of being contacted:bandit:

Yea I saw that too. I was thinking maybe but since they just awarded it it will take time to impliment it. Who knows how long that will take. I sure don't, but I think I may be eligable for retirement before I get a class date at this point...ha ha ha...just kidding. I know it's coming but the jumbled up info that I do get that seems to make no sense is really disheartening sometimes. If ya'll hear of anything more on thing more this subject please PM me or post for all to see....I'm gonna do a little research on this and see what comes of it.....Ya'll are the best!!! Yes! It's definitely a good sign that he at least responds back. Although not always with things we'd like to hear. More than likely it seems as though we are all going to be affected by this "training strategy". I don't even know what it's all about but I don't like it already. :whatever: LOL. Anything that's going to delay our academy date cannot be good!:panic:
If I hear anything more on this mystery matter I'll be sure to let it be known!
 
I strongly doubt this will affect any of the '07 applicants or us '08 FEB applicants. We are talking about the government; nothing is done in a timely manner. I also say this because the FAA operations department is working on my conditional clearance. Which under their new strategy, they are going to do away with conditional clearances.


Lalexf might be an exception....she will be pushing the big 40 before she starts the academy.:D

I got an email today that said I needed to fill out two forms (which I have fillled out twice before) that they didn't have in my file, and as soon as she gets those (I faxed them tonight) they would have an FOL for me, hopefully get that done tomorrow!!! :nana2:

Do you think it has anything to do with the new simulators they started using last week?

Thousands of air traffic controller trainees in Oklahoma City will become the first in the country to train using new state of the art simulators beginning September 2nd, U.S. Secretary of Transportation Mary E. Peters announced yesterday.
