official "waiting for FOL from NYC PEPC" thread

Just curious, how many references did you have to include, and do you fill this out at the PEPC, or before you go.

A neighbor from every address you lived at for 5 years.
7 years of previous bosses.
All family, kids, parents, step parents, adults lived with...
3 good references.

It's the SP-86 form I believe, google it.

You fill it out, take it to the PEPC. Turn it in, they later give it back to you and make you type it in.

Me Too!!! He is going to have me go over it to make sure everything is good to go.... If that isn't a guy looking out for me, who is..... :buck:

Lucky... I had to pay my guy $5 because he said he was going to put down that I was bad with financial decision.... :banghead:

So far I've had 2 of my "people who know you well" get their letters (and I saw them both), and my fiance got one and she was an address verifier and my "unemployed" verifier, I think she got it as my address verifier. Haven't heard from anyone else yet... but I'm happy with the 3 people so far!! :rawk:

You don't have to list neighbors. It says "Someone who knew you" at that address. You can list anyone who knew you when you lived there. When I did this for my military clearance I used the same person multiple times.

"who preferrably still lives in the area"

Isn't Houston Center the one that they're closing? When I was at CTI school last year, they told me they were going to shut down Houston Center and other sectors around would take over the airspace.

I'm going to Houston Center also. There are still rumors that it might eventually get closed and separated to other centers...but if they came out today and said its a done deal and is going to happen. It would be years before it would actually happen. So, I don't sweat it.

To add to the post about the information from Mr. Anderson. I spoke with him also and it seems that for us enroute folks...he and the other people that assign us our class dates are going to get together sometime soon. It seemed like he told me that they know the class dates, they just have not decided which center(s) get which class dates. So, heres to hoping that zhu gets the first class date!! :yup: And they do put everyone that they can in the same class with your center. For example the July 29th was a lot of zhu and the Aug 19th was a lot of kansas.

Also, for centers at least, you won't get your fol until they confirm you for a class date. That fol is your golden ticket if you will. If they have your tol and all your clearances though...you will eventually get an fol. Also, I know for a fact that Mr. Anderson fills class dates based on whose clearances he received first...so there is at least some kind of pecking order I guess. :panic:

I know this is probably an obvious no but I thought I would ask anyway. Has anyone checked to see if the FAA website has been updated and the class dates for FY '09 released? I know there was a link floating around these blogs that had the class date information. Can someone post it again so I can check it out myself. Thanks.

Nothing beyond 9/26 for terminal and 8/19 for enroute...

***FOUND SOME FY09 CLASS DATES!!!!***

50146 - (50146) Initial En Route and User Request Evaluation Tool
Class ID....Start Date......End Date.........FY...Class Time
10488......10/20/2008.....01/16/2009......09...Day
10489......11/18/2008.....02/17/2009......09...Day

That's odd because up until October and November they have 3 or 4 classes scheduled a month. Then beginning in October, only 1.

I think that since there are a few classes with FY09 dates, it shouldn't be long before the rest get posted up. I would think no later than sometime next week.

I'd be willing to bet those classes were funded with FY08 dollars because they are required for the FY08 Enroute students. Meaning, they aren't part of the new calendar we're all waiting for.

Agreed. 07 classes went through november of last year. 08 dollars weren't spent until january even though the fiscal year begins the october before.

Unless things have changed since last year, 09 money will start being spent on classes in january. Now, they may be announced long before then... but, I think they put january on our TOL's for a reason.

Hope I'm wrong!
