Try running the numbers on providing a rental or club aircraft, you will be surprised how expensive it is and how little profit margin there is for the amount of risk you must take to operate one.

I started my CFI training at WVFC. The instructor's plan was to teach me EVERY lesson (starting with 4 fundamentals), regardless of whether I knew the material or not, and then have me teach it back to him. With approximately 2 hrs minimum per lesson at $60/hr, we were talking about thousands of dollars for ground instruction alone. After the first lesson I woke up and realized this was not the right place to be.
