NYC PEPC peoples

"Thank you for your response. We are confirming that you will be attending the ATCS PEPC at the FAA Eastern Regional Office located at 159-30 Rockaway Blvd. Jamaica, NY 11434 on Wed, 02/25/09."

Confirmed for the 25th. Flying in on the 24th and out on the 26th.
I'm staying at the Days Inn. It's .4 from the regional office and about a 7min walk.

I checked the Days Inn website and I did NOT see a Days Inn that was .4 from the regional office. Send me the website that shows this please...cause I would like to stay there also ...Thanks!

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WEAR A SUIT! If you don't have one, buy one.

I had a conversation with the ATM in Nashville that told me about the PEPC process, and that is definitely one of the things they check. Professionalism is key, especially when you want to get a job with the federal government. She told me about one guy that came in to the interview in a t-shirt and jeans while everyone else wore suits -- he had passed the test, waited and waited, and got a PEPC interview, only to screw it up and not get a recommendation/TOL because they thought he couldn't take the job seriously. They know you've waited this long; make sure you continue to show your level of professionalism at this point in the game, and it will take you places.

I nice pressed shirt and tie with dress slacks will be fine to wear. Dress shoes and dress socks as well.

He must have been confused...that's what you wear AFTER you get the job:crazy:!

It's funny, I work with some guys of varying GS levels and they'll paint their house and then come to work in the same clothes!!

Suit it is. I roll into NYC around 11:30 and wouldnt mind poking around the city. Though I have to be very budget conscience.

Add a sweater over the shirt and tie.

i might need to go get one =(

down here in louisiana it only gets below 70 maybe 2 or 3 times a year.

in december it snowed on the northshore and the only thing i had to wear to combat it was my wetsuit i wear for scubadiving. im sure a wetsuit isnt proper attire.

anyone know what the weathers like up there?

im sure its freezing...

Right now it is incredibly cold. Single digits. Sunday its going to warm up pretty significantly. So hopefully that'll stick around. Realistically, count on 30-40 degree weather, at the warmest.

I have been on a diet since geo pref letters went out to get back into my lucky suit.

SUCCESS!!!:rawk:

Me too! But I think I might get a new suit anyway. I want to drop like 7 pounds before the interview...I have my work cut out for me.

Time for running and 1200 calories per day!

I think anything less than a suit is way too casual. Even if it's for a job where people used to dress casually and are no business casual, and even if the interview is only 20 minutes...they are looking at you all day long. And a person in a suit gets more respect than someone more casual during a first visual impression.
