Notices to Airmen is back

It should never have been changed in the first place. I can only imagine the liberal person who perused thousands of documents and finally found one that had notice to airMEN and thought, aha! This isn’t inclusive!

They fixed something that never was broken in the first place.

Thank God they told me about the unlit tower to 347' AGL on Alpha Centauri, that's real useful in my Boeing 757.
In TUS, there was a NOTAM for a 7ft pole. I was certain it was a typo so I went looking for the actual obstruction filing. It was NOT a typo, it was a legit 7 foot pole... that was part of the airport fence.

Great! We went from 97 pages to… 97 pages plus two+ paragraphs explaining “NOTAMS: Notice to Air Missions expired. Notice to Airmen is new lexicon for each departure, destination and alternate airport.

Hey!
As Peter Sr used to say when I was a child and not focused; “you’re worried about the wrong s**t”. That’s exactly what we’re watching happen right now. But hey, eggs and interest rates 🤷‍♂️

There was some dude who say “BRING BACK DIXIE!” On my companies forum and I was like ABSOLUTELY NOT.
🤦‍♂️ Reminds me of that line from Django “the south shall rise again”. No, just no and I don’t even work at said Air Line.

What is that buxom minx that starred in the Delta safety ads or something way back doing? Has she made more movies, and if so - send them!

I’m all for flying precisely but if you determine the obstruction was “only” 34’ high and therefore didn’t penetrate the takeoff flight path, anyway…

Ok. If I grant you that it was a stupid thing back then, will you agree that it is a stupid thing to do now?

I’d just make the “Delta” taxiway into something else. Q and U9 parallel one another in DTW and people ‘magically’ figure out which is which.

As a person of color, having to say “Dixie” just sucked because of the dark history of the word and no one gave a poop because there really weren’t a lot of us, at the time, that drew that connection.

Like when I got invited to a wedding outside of Orlando at a place called “(Something I can’t remember) Plantation” and I thought he was kidding. “You really are throwing a party at a… former Plantation?”

“Oh it’s real nice”

“Hey, have fun, I’m out of town that weekend”

There used to be a NOTAM at MBPV for controllers in training (Student pilot on the other side of the radio) and recently FLL had one because Drake’s 767 was parked on the SW.

It’s useful in my helo heading to an accident scene in the middle of nowhere near there.

I don’t like hitting the ground or anything attached to the ground.

Of course, I look the same at things like “SWABO 5 SID, LANKY transition, NA UFN”, at least until I switch aircraft Categories a few times a month.

Why not call it taxiway Dog? :)
