My grandpa once bought a clean, straight 150 fuselage (with the omnivision - not straightback) and wings from a salvage yard. Idea we screwed around with was to make a homebuilt. We thought about making it tandem, taildragger, and getting a Cessna 140 tail and fairing it to look more round - like a L-19. Then, paint it olive drab and voila! A mini-L-19. L-19's are pretty neat airplanes. Never got around to that project - he was a highly standard airline pilot and died at 66 years and 3 months so we ran out of time on lots of things.
