Re: Very Grateful!
Munich is one of my favorite cities in the world, and it has a lot of 'old Germany', as well as a lot of new stuff too. They have the glockenspiel in the Marienplatz, as well as a huge food market neer by. Lots of old historical buildings with a lot of really neat history about them if you find places to read about them beforehand. We used to go into Munich a lot on field trips for German class. Basically my teacher would act as a tourguide and whoe us around all the old buildings and such. There's also new stuff such as the BMW museum *drool* and walking around olympic park and going up the tower. Though the olympic park isn't all that new, it still has a lot of historical value. That was where the Israeli athletes were kidnapped and later killed during the olympics. Also it is where the US basketball team got screwed by the refs and lost to the USSR. I've actually played a few hockey games in that exact arena. There's also a lot of daytrips that are accessable by train from Munich that are a lot of fun. As for East/West, the first thing that comes to mind is Berlin. Though I never made it up there, obviously that is where the Berlin wall was. If you're in the area I also reccomend checking out Austria, one of the most beautiful countries in the world in my opinion. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Man, you're making me wish I was still there ;-)
