Absolutely not. I'm just tired of hearing people b*tch about the way the REGIONAL industry is.

Wow.

Let me see if I have this correct. This industry evolves, we're a bi-product of such, and there isn't anything we can do about it so accept it and be happy.

Okay. Sounds good.

You just don't get it.

Umm...no I don't. And neither do you.

Why did you make the lateral and leave Colgan again?

Because I wanted to fly SHINEY JETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!11!!!11111!128268371261

:sarcasm:

Because COLGAN treats pilots like dirt and I'm sick of it. Need anymore reason than that?

Dave

are going to throw your hands in the air, give up and say, "this is what we were given, let us live with it."

or

are you going to fight to change it. i would much rather fight to change things for the better Dave.

No, but there are things worth fighting for and things that you can't fight. I am all for standing up to management and fighting to change the way pilots are paid/treated. But unfortunately Mark, management and corporate America as a whole, will do what they please. Unless you can get into the management side, you can't change the way the industry operates.

I, as a pilot, can not change the fact that US Airways puts Republic 170/175's on some of its less profitable routes. Business are allowed to operate as they please and make business decision in their best interests. WE as PILOTS can not change HOW companies operate. We can only change how it affects us. Do you see my point? Because thats the whole point I'm trying to make.

Just because I work for XZY Inc. doesn't mean I can tell XYZ Inc. how to manage their business, and thats how you're making it sound. The only thing I can improve or fight to improve at XYZ Inc. is how I'm paid, possible what I operate and how I'm treated.

What can we do about REGIONALS flying larger aircraft for Mainline?? What can we do Merit?? What can WE as PILOTS do to change the way a COMPANY does its business?? Are you people friggin stupid tonight or what??? Do all of you own major shares in Regional companies and a seat on the board????

Do we as pilots have a say in how our company handles it business? Or any company for that matter?

Yeah so we can fight for a nationl seniority list. We fight for all 'express' and mainline pilots to be under one seniority list.

God i hope someday we can prove you wrong Dave.

Our fundamental beliefs on the subject are obviously different.

You keep lumping people into your financial crisis, lateral move crisis, housing crisis, and now your "I cant do anything about anything" crisis. Is this to make you feel better about yourself?

We fight for a national seniority list, or make sure all pilots flying planes under a carrier are on one list.

That is what we do.

Quite simple actually.

Not when there is no next level to go to.

Thats the most pointless post I've seen from you. Next level? Is your crystal ball telling you something I don't konw about the Majors disappearing tomorrow?? Is Delta stopping their domestic business???

Here is where you can start.

Enjoy.

dude, just stop. oldtown has a valid point one which has been brought up countless times. there is nothing pointless about that post.

don't take those legacies for granted. they may not always be there.

His point is that with mainline shrinking the move to the next level is becoming harder to achieve. Regionals expand....Majors shrink....doesn't sound all that great unless you want to be at a regional forever.

Mark, I agree with you 100% on this. One seniority list would make the industry, and life, a heck of a lot easier. But again, would we be changing the way a company does its business?

My whole logic here, if you people READ this, is that IF I owned a business, I'd be damned if my EMPLOYEES tried to tell me how to run it.

National Seniority list? Now thats not telling companies HOW to run their business, its telling them how we are going to operate. There's a difference and thats my point.

Ok, I'll rephrase that for you, Not when there is no next level that is hiring pilots.

A stagnant mainline seniority list is a real possibility with all this outsourcing crap. It very easily could be that the only thing the legacies operate is an international network, while regionals fly everything in north america.

Alright people this thread is only a week old and has grown to 11 pages. It has gone from discussing non-union airlines to slinging back and forth. If you have something to add to the discussion of non-union airlines, then feel free to start a thread addressing that.
