Non-Union airlines..

SUCK!

(my late night drinking thoughts and love for all the non-union guys!)

If you stop starting ridiculous threads, I'll spare you my list of reasons current and past ALPA members have given me to not be interesting in their assistance.

Atta boy, Merit.

And any "list" someone might give you is highly colored by the experience of a bunch of furloughees who mistakenly blame ALPA for their troubles when they should be blaming their ex-employer.

So take it all with a grain of salt the size of a softball. Remember, those are the kind of guys who feel no shame in stabbing the piloting profession in the back for a perceived quick upgrade.

How's that working out for them now? Not too well...

Then there are guys who try to make a difference by supporting and voting but still get sucked down by close to 70% of their "peers."

Something I'd really like to see ALPA do is a journeyman/associate membership. The Fraternal Order of Police allows individuals to join the "national" organization and they provide support on an inidividaul basis to those officers whose departments are non union.

I think ALPA should do the same thing.

Wouldn't help much on contract negotiations or whatnot but it would/could provide help on an individual level (aka and association ala AOPA for professional pilots).

Plus it's more income for ALPA.

just wondering who you work for, have worked for, and why you think this? i've seen you non-union carrier bashing on other forums. curious, if a place like ups or southwest offered you a job if you would say "no thanks, you are non-union and you SUCK!".

Considering BOTH Southwest and UPS HAVE unions on property........I'd say sure, I'll take the job.

Perhaps you meant to say Virgin America or JetBlue? ;)

:yup:

I'll keep my position on non-union carriers and do my part in supporting all airline unions in an effort to preserve the profession. This is not the place to come onto and throw around support for non-union positions since most here are very pro. Just ask our friend Velo.

Last but not least, do your homework on union carriers before you make yourself look stupid.

ALPA used to have an organization called the Association of Independant Airmen (AIA). I'll have to check into it and find out what happened to it.
