No furloughs at Pinnacle?

One day I was chatting with a mainline non-rev who had just hopped off our flight. I can't even remember which company the guy worked for, one of the legacy carriers. We were talking about schedules, and the guy said, "Oh man you wouldn't believe it this month. They wanted me to fly 80 hours! Can you believe that? And we were doing 3 legs a day the entire month! That starts to get dangerous with that many legs!"

When I informed him that I was doing a 25 hour 4 day trip with 5 legs per day, and that we had CRJ drivers doing 7 legs per day down in Atlanta his jaw nearly hit the floor. He couldn't fathom that people were flying that much.

Train you would be shocked at the number of guys who live in never never land...err maybe you wuldn't. That's who passed this POS.

I remember comparing legs with my old man and I had more legs in a month compared to what he flew all year. The pay discussion was flat out depressing at CA pay and I had to laugh to not cry at FO pay. It's all in perspective and what you are used to I guess.

Try that now with you not flying most of the month :D

How bad are the lines these days?

Even with a few days to fly in July it will prob be more legs.

Lines are rough. Resignations are creating tons of open time for reserves and we are short in most bases and seats. The training pipeline isn't as fast as the door lately.

5 legs/day were the norm at Comair especially after our move to DTW. A couple of trips I never left the state of Michigan. DTW-LAN, DTW-GRR, etc. Haven't done more than two legs here at the Blue Factory. What's crazy is I had a SWA guy in our jumpseat about a month ago and his trip pairing was ridiculous. On one day he did JAX-TPA-BHM-MCO-PIT-PHL. His 3 day was worth 23.75. Yikes.

Why am I not surprised.

How many have left since the bankruptcy?

I was trolling open time a few weeks ago looking to get some cash before I get my paycheck slashed in court. I saw a four day worth 28 hours, and I was like "Score! It's out of DTW, but I could commute to that." Yeah, commute up the day before with a show time and leave the day after, but hey. I had 9 days off. I'll look at it. HOLY CRIPES! TWO 7 LEG DAYS?!?! ALL THE OVERNIGHTS LESS THAN 10 HOURS?!?!?" Duck that. It's going to a reserve. I doubt there are many lineholders out there that would even be legal to pick the whole thing up without creating a 30/7 violation. Higney's right. Schedules are getting tough because there's not much to work with. Likely someone saw that on their PBS line and said "Screw this. I'm out."

28 hour 4-day I would be all over that like white on rice

Here 7 leg days turn into 4 legs easy with summertime weather and mx

Eh, here they won't cancel or remove anything until you hit 15 hours. And since 9 hours is our min on rest, they've got all the time in the world to do that. You'd still wind up flying the 7 legs once you factor in the 2 hour sits between every other leg.

Gonna have to finish this one.
dont we have people still in class from 12-03 that overlap with the start of 12-04? i thought that was against the jcba? it doesn't matter anymore. I have doubts that UAL said we are done. It's more likely that our friend John aka spanky Spankers said f-it. There is no way that Republic or Silver, or Rambo or anyone could pick up all this flying in one month. From the adjustments made in Jan to the Ual agreement, we were making money as long as we completed these flights. How is this jackhole going to tell the bk judge that we voluntarily gave up revenue? So this makes me wonder, what else is Spanjers willing to throw away? I see Francesco Schettino crawling into the lifeboat. If that isn't a sign, i don't know what is.

I've been doing them and it's been great. Do 3 a month for 90+ credit and have 18 days off. Double edged sword though, as those 4 days are HARD work! Typically 22+legs over the 4 day, at least one 7 leg day, and 12 hr+ duty days. Coffee is a must!
