NJC 2021

Never been to NJC, but indoors in the AC I guess I don't see what the big deal is about wearing a mask. I'm vaccinated but that doesn't mean I want to put Pfizer to the test. Especially these days when regionally (especially in the South) one out of every two people is likely still unvaccinated.

If I had someplace I really wanted to go and people I wanted to spend time with, a mask is a very minor inconvenience. Your mileage may vary of course.

Eventually we've got to live our lives again. Once you've taken every other precaution to mitigate risk, got to get back out there. Ships are safe in harbor, but that's not what ships are built for.

I don't think so. We practice risk mitigation in every facet of our lives from how much you have to drink before you realize it isn't safe to drive to whether to wear a condom with that girl you just met on Tinder. I view masks as just another apparatus of risk mitigation that allows me to get back out there and do what I want.

Taking the teen to Disney for probably the last time until he has kids of his own next month. They require masks indoors. Fair trade for one last family vacation to the Mouse Mecca. If we waited until masks weren't required we might miss that window. If everybody was vaccinated it might not be necessary, but I guess there's still a lot of folks who don't trust Doctor Trumps Miracle Warp Speed Vaccine. Personally I would've taken it rectally if it meant saving the airline and getting back to some semblance of normal.

i don’t see a contradiction at all. At some point…..get back to living…..For me that means if i have to wear a mask to make it back then so be it. perhaps it’s a contradiction for you but so be it. for me being able to make it back and being able to see people again outweighs the minor inconvenience of a mask.

2021 dates:

October 21-24, 2021

Get your vacations setup meow! :D

We will probably host our daily M&Gs again at the Cosmopolitan unless we hear of something more fun and worthy.
We’re flying our Commander in. See y’all there!

It’s been since 2014 but we are in the process of booking! Taking the SO too, but she will go off with her friend. 21-23. I gotta work Monday so would like Sunday at home to recoup. I’ve heard things about this group.

We'll be getting in on Thursday as well, leaving Sunday.

The plan is to try to stay socially distant from the public (other than outdoors) as much as we possibly can. We'll have our Wraparound Suite like past years which gives us the 2 outdoor balconies to use and verify there's good ventilation in the room.

I'm on the assumption that 98% of us showing up will be vaccinated.

Is there anything in particular that ya'll want to do? Typical fun or new fun we want to put into the weekend?

OH - What method do you all think will be best to keep in touch while we're all in town? I'm not sure Groupme is our best option or method anymore.

I'd really love to come this year, but I'm going in for surgery at the end of November, and I need to spend my time prepping for that. And getting COVID could sideline my surgery, so I'm not quite there yet.

Perhaps 2022. ^_^ If the world hasn't torn itself apart by then ...
Surgery? Everything ok?
