Take into account that you may have to make up solo time at the end of 323 in order to satisfy the requirements. I had to make up around 13 hours of solo time at the end of the block which really sucked because I finished the very last day the grades were due (otherwise would have failed ground school). I tell you this that way you can plan ahead. It IS a short course, but can be long for six weeks depending on how much solo time you have to make up...just a heads up!

Actually 325 is a 9 week summer course.
As I am sure people have mentioned already here are the facts for Avit 112/105/102 since I teach them. 112 is 14 lessons with the 14th lesson beign a stage check(mimicks a private pilot checkride). 105 is teh same amount of lessons but with a part 61 checkride with a DPE. 102 has 30 lessons all examining is done with UND internally. As far as why you must its because of two reasons. UND standards of flying (i.e. policies, area familarzation,and so on.) and also insurance reasons. UND needs to make sure that you the student can be covered by insruance and since you already have your private pilot and in the next course you will be flying a 250nm striaght line distance xc they want to make sure you can handle there aircraft. I had a 112 take it. He thought the flying was stupid but when it came to the stagecheck he realized that he needed to catch up on alot of stuff(not saying that you will be sometimes the memory of regs and aviation knowledge can fade with time). Needless to say I had to bring him up to standards and it took a good ole breifing and flight to do that. 112 in the summer is a entire summer course. You have to do the 102 ground school as it is required for your academic grade and for you to get you degree in any of the aviation degrees.
If youdo avit management you will not be taking the CFI or CFII courses. I would reccomend that you do since being a instructor is a easy way to make some cash when your funds are low.

If only that were true with this weather....sighs...
...but yes, get your CFI/CFII. I really enjoy the instructing, it's a fun job...doesn't pay well, but it's rewarding in its own way.

Well the instruction rate went up 4 dollars this semester to 47. You guys get that extra 4 right?
No we the instructors do not get a 4 dollar raise. the pay rate stay the same.The 4 dollar raise is there to cover increased instructor contact time. I cant really go into specifics but our pay is the same. Part-Time are still 10.50 an hour unless they are having continuous work with 4 students or more. then they go up to there prespective full time rates.

Hmmm, It sounded like they riased the instructor wage to "keep instructors at UND." I hope you guys are getting more money somewhere... Otherwise I don't know why we are paying 4 dollars more...

Just be patient, you can't start courses till summer or fall anyway and your gonna get the response soon. Keep in mind, Crookston is a lot smaller then UND.

Your chances are 100% IF you don't meet the automatic admissions criteria. However, you will most likely still get in. I was reviewed, for a missing social science credit and they let me in. I had a high GPA and good SAT scores. I don't know how it works if you have a GPA issue or SAT issue. I think the whole admissions department here is a joke, especially the director--Heidi something. Her office is very unorganized, so be aware of the dates your grades and things are due. They will most likely lose everything important, so you will probably have to send it in again. Also, the admissions department hasn't discovered the computer yet. So trying to accomplish anything via the very new concept of the internet is probably a lost cause.
I wouldn't worry. If you don't get accepted and you still want to go to UND, send in an appeal and you will get in.
Appeal? How will appeal will make them to reconsider their decision? Your lying about the admission how can they not use a computer yet?

I think you were asking what the chances of getting in are. I still think you will be fine, as UND really takes everyone. They will review your app and most likely let you in. There isn't any percentage that get in through review.

That's what the paper we got in class says... It goes on to say that $47 is ok because Embry Riddle and FIT rates are higher.
