New ASA hiring min\'s

Word around the base is that minimums are now 600/100. We can't seem to get enough pilots. We're losing them as quick as we can hire them....and we continue to get new airplanes as well.

Where are they going?

Re: New ASA hiring min\'s

LOTS are going to Airtran. A good number to Southwest. I know of a handful to both FedEx and UPS. Some to Omni and World, and I even heard of one to Continental. A few have gone fractional....but the majority to Airtran. We are losing somewhere around 10-20 per month.

Re: New ASA hiring min\'s

is it posted yet. still says 1200/200 on their web site

currently i am at 320/85

You mean there is another way to get to Airtran besides CAPT?

Re: New ASA hiring min\'s

From what I understand airtran has not hired ANY CAPT grads. I believe ASA has hired a few...one of them was in the February class.

Re: New ASA hiring min\'s

Can someone tell me what those numbers mean of 600/100.

Well atleast the pilots who are going on to larger airlines are going with good, strong airlines, well atleast at the time

Dunno, bro. Blocked and copied directly from the ASA careers sight:

Minimum Requirements
1,200 hours total time

200 hours multi-engine time

100 hours within the last six months

If your numbers are indeed the mins, PLEASE let us know.

Wow...ASA has always been in my crosshairs as a potential employer. Even more so since my number one choice Comair punked out!
How many new deliveries are you guys getting a month/year?

Try Great Lakes or Mesa.

Re: New ASA hiring min\'s

Great Lakes...

Ditto to Mesa, maybe I'll give Mesa a second look when they get better pay and QOL.
I always have preferred the south and midwest to the western portion of the U.S.
After living in CVG for 5 1/2 yrs. Comair has a soft spot in my heart.
My top choices in no particualr order as I was just telling Sprint100 are:

ASA

Comair

Chautauqua

Express Jet

Wow...that is good news!

Re: New ASA hiring min\'s

LOL.

I would definitely consider flying for Chautauqua to make a move back to central Ohio. I didn't know until tonight that you could base there.
