That is straight from FracStats.com... Yes, the Fractionals (especially NetJets) pay a pitiful wage...

At my company, we start our first year, day 1, new hires at the same pay a 10 year NJA Captain makes... and that doesn't include their annual bonus which if you include that would put them at about 12 year NJA Captain pay... By year 3 our guys exceed the NJA pay scale... and on top of that our guys average 165 work days per year (vs. NJA's 204)... Our guys average 72 RON's per year (vs. NJA's 156 RON's per year)... Lets not even discuss Pension, retirement, benefits, etc...

Fractionals may be a decent stepping stone, but as of right now certainly are not a career job...

(RON's = Remain Over Night, i.e. night in a hotel room and not your own bed)

If you have at least 5,000 hours, including at least 2,500 multi-engine, 1,000 turbine of which at least 500 are jet and at least one turbo-jet type rating, International experience is a plus (Canada and Mexico don't count) then you are welcome to ad your resume to the stack...

Falc Capt. I don't answer the questions about your company's pay and benefits. So why do you answer questions about my job?

Yes the pay scale above is correct. It's also from 1998. Yes, we are still in negotiations. Yes, we have been at it for 3 years. Yes, I expect them to exceed yours in the next few months. Yes, people actually used commuters as a stepping stone to NJA. Not the other way around. As bag as our pay may seem, it still beats the commuters pay scales as well as some LCCs for the first few years.

Benefits are relative. We have included med/dental/vision. 50/50 match 401K. Just added loss of lic/loss of medical insurance.

A little side benefit is the airline/hotel miles. I have taken my wife on weeklong vacations to Hawaii and other beaches, two times a year for the last few years. All Hiltons, all free. An aluminum Trek mountain bike from Marriott, and a Sony home theater system from Hilton.

I'm perfectly content and don't plan on leaving. I am also happy with the schedule and QOL.
 
NJA...could you elaborate a little bit more on the hotel/travel bennies with a company like NetJets, for those of us with an eye on that type of flying?
 
Hey NJA, How hard was it adjusting to the 7 on 7 off schedule? That seems like a good amount of time to work in a row but it is a lot off too.

Someone asked, I went to the only source I know of (FracStats.com) and posted the info they asked for... Simple as that...

You don't answer questions about my company because you can't... Info on my company isn't public information like it is for your company...
 
As a family man, I personally can't see how 7 days on (on the road) is considered a good schedule. That's half the month, year, life, away from the wife and children. I'm sure for some guys this is great, but I wouldn't do it. I wouldn't spend two weeks + a month away from my family just cause I want to fly airplanes. It's just a job. Besides there are plenty of other jobs out there with a much better schedule. Just my opinion on the matter, that's all.

Acctually the 7 on, 7 off scheduale is one of the main reasons I'd like to work there. When you're gone, you're gone. When you're home, you're home. No reserve, no beeper, no comute to work.

Add to that the variety of flying that they do. You fly anywhere they want you to for your 7 days, then you go home. I think I would get bored flying the same set of routes all the time in the airlines.

Only 2100 hours to go.

Until your kids birthday, your wedding anniversary, kids school play, your family reunion, kids first day of school, etc, etc, etc... falls during that magic 7 you are on the road... 7 on the road once in a while is ok, 7 on the road every other week is way too much!

I know what you mean...it can drive alot of people crazy. For eight years, i played the "gone alot" game. I'm kind of weird, though....I hate going to work everyday. I'd work 17 on/17 off before I'd work 5 on for 8 hours with 2 off.

No, I like being able to do my own thing for days at a time.

Besides, the kids are already in school, I don't celebrate wedding anniversaries and I don't get together with my family...ever!!
