Morbid curiosity. Upgrade times?

Do you want Hawaii and Tahiti overnights or trips starting with a redeye to the east coast?
Yeah as LAX ER FO this is pretty much it. I’ve seen my seniority in 1.5 years go from 100% to 29%. Sure a lot of people below me upgrading but now I hold 1 leg Hawaii flying or B-line trips Hawaii legs. I can’t hold Tahiti, but I’ve gotten one off swap board since senior FO’s don’t care to work either. I essentially haven’t seen a 2 leg day in months, get notifications I need landing currency, and I haven’t seen Atlanta and plan to continue to bid avoid going to Atlanta for a while.

Meanwhile if you’re a junior captain you will be in Atlanta every trip or better yet you will be doing 0200 charter flying. From my experience last year in LAX it can be some of best ER flying or worst. It’s up to your seniority. Tokyo is also coming back in March, which I’m sure won’t get past 2000#’s on captain list.

Less than 2…junior A on the 73N in SEA is Sept 2021 DOH. (Bottom 5 are all summer 2021 hires)

The A320 is 2020 hires to hold A in SEA.

Exactly. I was surprised to see such a “low” salary demand. I was expecting him to say somewhere between 500k and 750k.

There is something to be said for being able to set the brake and leave work at work for days at a time. That doesn't happen in other jobs, especially when you own the business. When I go on vacation, I'm still checking my email. That's really the only positive of the airline lifestyle. It's usually outweighed by all of the negatives, but if you could be based at home flying only day trips for 2 or 3 days a week, and making solid money, it could be worth it.

Is this you typing or your fiancée/wife? I ask that we do a welfare check. We are looking for someone who has a positive outlook on 121 aviation. This clearly can’t be you ;)
