Min days off at a Legacy/Major

My line for October at SouthernJets is 13 days off 93 credit. Very junior line though. Many senior folks have 15+ days off

They shouldn't even be allowed to build a line to that credit value but I digress....add it to the list of things we gave up in the last contract.

Well, we have an ALV (Average Line Value).

So I kind of consider it a 'full month" if my credit reaches the ALV or somewhat close.

I thought full meant having no life and sitting by the phone waiting on WSs?

Haha...that's funny. At ASA that is a pretty low Threshold Line Value (bidding target). Over the summers it's regularly 100 hours!

Precisely why we never should have allowed the increase in our yearly TLV in the last contract. I have no desire to have regional work rules.

Hate to say it but I've researched a lot of our (ASA) bidding window settings over the past 3.5 years with PBS, and I do not recall a TLV of 100. Highest TLV I recall seeing was 90 and that was in our two understaffed domiciles.

When I return home I'll be more than happy to review the historical data that I currently have.

But, no - a 100 hour TLV is not operationally effective much less financially for our company and it does not, and has not, occurred frequently or with any sense of regularity.

The bid divisors here are normally around an 85-87 hour target in the summer. In the fall, it can drop as low as 70-75 for the overstaffed bases/positions. RARELY is it higher than 87. You're more than welcome to grab stuff above that if you're legal for it, but we lost premium pay in the last PEA revision, so unless you need the extra 10 or so hours, there's not a huge incentive to pick up open time. Despite that fact, we've still got plenty of FLiCA stalkers that grab it like it's going out of style, but it's more on the CA side than the FO side. Guess they need to pay for that boat and second divorce.

August was 98hrs for ATL CRJ CA...with a window of 88-118 (cover sheet data). Happens all the time during the "busy months".

I tend to snap up a lot of open time where I work, but it's more so I can keep my Southern Californian roof over my head.

Of course, the category is so small now that it doesn't matter: there is no open time.

I pick up every month now that I live in base. I can grab productive turns that allow me get up with my family, send my daughter to day care, go fly for 8 hours, and then be home in time to put her to bed.

When I was (and will be again) a commuter, picking up on days off is a great way to get divorced.

.

I can't fault anyone for grabbing something like that. Most of our open time lately has been a 10-12 hour two day or a 15 hour rigged three day with 17 hour overnights in Worchester......
