Min days off at a Legacy/Major

August was 98hrs for ATL CRJ CA...with a window of 88-118 (cover sheet data). Happens all the time during the "busy months".

It is far from the regular is my point. Additionally, set your PCT to 60 and the new threshold will be whatever the final bottom of the window ends up being during the bid run solutions. A TLV of 98 does not by any means indicate that every pilot will have a schedule built to that value.

I'm still away from home and not able to access the historical data via this machine, but all my point is that its not a fair representation of our PBS to claim that we see a 100 TLV all the time.

I have worked very closely with members of our scheduling committee on a number of matters and hopefully over the next few weeks we will be able to highlight essentially a PBS refresher "training" for our pilots. You would be amazed at how many folks fail to reach out for help during vacation months and then they end up boning themselves because they were not as strategic in their bid as they needed to be, or worse - they just were not knowledgable enough in the system to make it do what they desired it to do. There are a lot of folks that were not around when PBS launched and they missed out on the in-lounge training and I am pushing really hard to have someone present in our lounges during bidding. Face-to-face instruction is far better than phone or e-mail instruction, but ultimately our pilots need to reach out when they have questions because our PBS is extremely flexible and will allow any pilot to hold what they desire, if their seniority will hold it vs. certain other system philosophies.

Feel free to hit me up if you want any help.

Where's Worchester? ;)

Just west of Boston. We're the only airline flying in there right now, and it's just from MCO and FLL. Or did you think I meant to type Rochester? :)

Hotel is nice, but there's nothing there for 17 hours.....

In the last 40 days I have only flown 2 on reserve as a long call. Been sitting at home. Reserve here is so transparent, you can easily see when you are going to go or not. Personally, unless staffing levels come down, I don't ever plan on bidding a regular block, ever.

I hear min days off is suppose to increase to 13 but it's kinda meaningless to me, I'd rather have less "guaranteed" days off and more actual "on call but didn't work" days off.

The QOL difference between here and my old commuter is just eye opening. And I don't even live in base yet. I can't wait 'till then.

I'm making fun. It's Worcester. No H. And it's pronounced Wuh-sta. So you can start saying that and impress your captains. ;)

Massachusetts is both hard to spell without "autocorrect", it's also hilarious.

5'2 female pixie van driver a few weeks ago spoke like a trucker and kept saying "So I axe dem, why you bustin' my BAWLZ?" every other sentence.

Would've been even better if he was giving progressive driving directions. "I'm gonna bang a U-ie he-ah and we'll be theya in no time. We ah gonna be wicked early!"

Like @wheelsup I also bid reserve. We work for different airlines but it sounds like our QOL is similar.

I live in base so It works out well for me. We have 12 days off guaranteed on rsv. In August I operated 1 leg, and I worked a total of 3 days in July. Nothing as of yet for September.

It's wicked good but if we go to da one by Coppley sqa-YUH, dose Southies will wanna coib-stomp us.

True statement. And brownie point for you for knowing its pronounced Copley and not Copely. Somehow, it often gets turned into Copely by visitors...

I had a week-long "9-11 Vacation" in Boston so spent a lot of time downtown.

I love Boston, it's a great city if one can afford to stay in that area.

Some pronunciations/translations from that part of the country...

woustah!
bah!
cah!
bubblah! (water fountain)
cabinet (milkshake in Rhode Island or Massachusetts)
P.S.D.S. (say it rapidly over and over again) it's "pierced ears"

Actually now that you mention that, I remember the Jetcareers "newsletter" 9/11 edition mentioning something to that effect.

Back when there was a newsletter instead of a forum, of course!

Damn -- time flies. o_O
