Mesa E175 drivers

Im not hearing too many nut bag stories about the new hires at Mesa...a few, but they are dealt with reasonably swiftly.

Probably. But at least an interview allows you to see if they are giving off a nutbag vibe, presumably meaning they are a bigger nutbag.

Look at it this way...disregarding the financial burden of attaining your ratings it is now more difficult to be hired as a fry cook at McDonald's than to attain a job at Mesa.

I bet I could call every fast food restaurant in my town and read them my resume and zero of them would want to hire me without at least meeting me first.
Of course, if they did interview, and they found the applicant to be a nutbag, I'm sure they would hire them anyway. In today's environment, with airlines that have a quickly growing fleet, they can't be too picky. It's a shame we as a profession can't use this time to bring up the profession as a whole. Instead, I fear we will have to learn our lesson the hard way... again.

You nailed it. $22.18 and 75.83 to be exact. Per diem ($1.44) starts first day of IOE. Company pays for single occupancy hotel from the night before orientation day until your last night of IOE.

Now that is quite a technical number of hours. Thanks.

1681.91 will be the least amount of money I ever made in a month since 1995 (I graduated college in 1996). As matter of fact, unemployment pays 2014.98 a month in Texas. How crazy is that. Heck, my girlfriend works 3 days a week serving tables and gets SSI for a disability and brings home 2950 a month!

Anyway. Is Mesa paid every 2 weeks? Or paid twice a month on certain days?

How is the medical insurance for single person?

I am a Dave Ramsey fan, so gotta ask.
Do they offer short term disability, long term disability, and loss of medical insurance?

I found ALPA at PSA to be a bit worthless in some areas. For example the company will not follow the contract at times in regard to critical day pay or in regard to bidding process. That can be frustrating since the stance was then to work the request and file a grievance. So taking a firm stance was not allowed and the grievance process was long. I only filed one grievance while at PSA and luckily it was resolved in one payroll cycle. But I seen many others not so lucky. Any opinion on Mesa and their contract and such?

Does anyone have a link to the current Mesa contract? I find one from 2008 on what appears to be an outdated Mesa Pilot Group website. Is that the current contract language? Or is there a newer link out there?

LAX is not a crew base. PHX is very senior for Captains but new hires can hold it not too long after getting out of training.
