Im not hearing too many nut bag stories about the new hires at Mesa...a few, but they are dealt with reasonably swiftly.
Of course, if they did interview, and they found the applicant to be a nutbag, I'm sure they would hire them anyway. In today's environment, with airlines that have a quickly growing fleet, they can't be too picky. It's a shame we as a profession can't use this time to bring up the profession as a whole. Instead, I fear we will have to learn our lesson the hard way... again.Probably. But at least an interview allows you to see if they are giving off a nutbag vibe, presumably meaning they are a bigger nutbag.
Look at it this way...disregarding the financial burden of attaining your ratings it is now more difficult to be hired as a fry cook at McDonald's than to attain a job at Mesa.
I bet I could call every fast food restaurant in my town and read them my resume and zero of them would want to hire me without at least meeting me first.

before i came to compass, mine went 'you were really an instructor on the C-5? Can you tell me what the MC-12 is? Ok...I'm prepared to offer you the job right now"
You nailed it. $22.18 and 75.83 to be exact. Per diem ($1.44) starts first day of IOE. Company pays for single occupancy hotel from the night before orientation day until your last night of IOE.
Mesa has 26 pay periods and 13 bidding periods a year versus 24 and 12 for virtually every other airline.
