Members ONLY job Posting(s)

Still trying to reach the Top Shelf
I recently posted a job in the MEMBERS ONLY section. Now I could have posted it open to all viewers, the lurkers, the vultures, etc., but I didn't....

I wanted that a JC'er would have the first shot. One of our members took the posting from the MEMBERS ONLY section and posted it into Pro Pilot World. This is a bit disappointing since the screening process will take more of my time.

Please respect the wishes of both employees and employers with regards to these job openings.

No, we're arguing that it's as simple as clicking "Join" to gain access to the Members Only section. What one (Ghost4314 in this case) does with the information once they've created an account is a crap shoot. Do I think it should be implied that jobs here stay here; yes. Am I surprised that it was leaked; not in the slightest. If you want to reduce the chances that it gets leaked, make it known. Don't rely on someone to figure it out on their own.

And who the hell knows; Ghost may have seen it as the first thread in the Jobs section on the home page, clicked it, copied and pasted it to PPW, and never noticed that it was in the Members Only section.

I fixed the problem (or at least thinned out the "load" in my inbox). See new post under my Jobs Available Thread.

Well, it's been stated many times, There are some things you just can't fix.........

If you hover your mouse icon over the link that is: Jobs Available (Members Only) link, you will clearly see this quote:

"If you know of anyone hiring and you want only jetcareers.com members to see"....... Seems clear to me...

I agree with dustoff17, I am looking for a job, really looking and because of this website and members only section, I was able to get two interviews. Both did not work out for various reasons, but in this business, especially right now. Why would you post something outside of this web site, you are just screwing a fellow member like me from getting an edge. I hope that who ever did this, is never in my position and they find out their little advantage for employment was taken away. And FYI - Dustoff's job would be a great experience and yes I interviewed for it and would have loved to do it. And thank you Dustoff for letting us here get to swing first at it.

Agreed.

This is why I like the idea of requiring a certain post count for entry to the members only section. When someone applies you can get a little background on the person through their posts. If they were a troll for most of their posts you will know they probably wont be a good fit.

What is the point of a "members only" jobs board if someone can just register real quick and see everything? Defeats the entire purpose as the board is intended for use with exclusive job postings. If there is some sort of requirement of entry beyond registering I can see more value in a members only section of the jobs board.

I agree 100%!! Some of the forums I am a member at requires a 30-60 day membership and 50 posts to view the members only forums. It works great to give members some valuable information that you should have to work a little to get.

Apparently "members only" now is defined as "members and whomever visits the forums that members choose to copy/paste postings to only"

If it's posted in "Members Only", leave it in "Members Only".

If I know of an opportunity I'd like to share with the members of Jetcareers and someone cuts and pastes it somewhere else, well, that person created a disincentive to share again.

Well yeah, I thought that's what we're trying to stay away from. If I was in the position to hire a pilot, and wanted it exclusively on JC, I'd think twice about posting if it was going to be plastered all over the inter webs.

Is there a way to keep this from happening? I mean at least to keep a 1 post member from plastering it all over? I'd hate to see member only job postings come down to including your JC usernmae on the resume.
