Members ONLY job Posting(s)

Have you contacted Falcon Capt at PPW about removing the post? He's a decent guy, and I really think he would oblige.
So I have to join another pilot forum in order to stop something that shouldn't have left "my" pilot forum? Gotta' love the logic.

And the hits just keep on coming!! Somehow this job posting got over to pilotjobs.com too. I just deleted 43 email.....unopened. I'm sure that this leads to false hopes and dreams to some applicants. It might make them wonder why they never got a "no thank you" response or that they are somehow "doing something wrong". Yet another reason to leave Members Only stuff to the members......

This is why I like the idea of requiring a certain post count for entry to the members only section. When someone applies you can get a little background on the person through their posts. If they were a troll for most of their posts you will know they probably wont be a good fit.

What is the point of a "members only" jobs board if someone can just register real quick and see everything? Defeats the entire purpose as the board is intended for use with exclusive job postings. If there is some sort of requirement of entry beyond registering I can see more value in a members only section of the jobs board.

I agree 100%. I'm not sure why this isn't implemented here. I've been on car forums before that had things like, you're only allowed to post for sale items if you have 100 legitimate (not spam) posts or something. I really think that's something that needs to be put in here, especially when it comes to jobs. Like others have said, all it takes is for someone to join, never post or read anything, and read all the 'member only' jobs.

That really sucks. I've been busy for the past 2 weeks and unable to peruse the jobs section thoroughly; but I am still keeping my eyes peeled. If nothing else, thank you (I assume you posted the job) for posting for the JC members.

I'm sure that this might be the platform for some modifications so that JC members benefit and posters (especially those who post their email address) don't have to deal with extra work when doing us a favor.

We'eve talked before dustoff and I want to say thank you for posting stuff specifically to these forums. I'm not qualified for this one so I didn't apply, but its still nice to see JC only stuff posted on here... Please don't let this one bad experience ruin it from now on!

False hopes is maybe all they have, at least give them that.

That sucks you have to go through all that though. Hopefully the right JCer comes along and makes your and their lives better. Thanks for offering this opportunity to us.

I understand why he would be "upset" (my word, not his) that I didn't want it posted on his site.

He makes money when people are members. IMHO - The more jobs posted, the more members, the more money he makes.

Yes, I know.
I went to the "contact us" page and sent an email. After a heated exchange of several email wherein I had to explain why I didn't want it on his web site, he graciously agreed to pull it.
So how heated was it? Tell us all the juicy details.

Tempting as it may be; we, here at JC, are better than that.......

Besides, aviation is a really small community. This Mark guy might be the future CP at a place where I'm trying to get a job!

.....not when it comes to the Lav. Spill it! :D

I did reply to all the "other" applicants that the posting was not intended for them to see and that I apologize for thier inconvenience. I thought this was better than no response.

I will state this though: Other than the intitial response of "so what if a JC Member pasted a private message all over the internet?", the most interesting thing I got out of this was an email from one specific applicant. Apparently he has time to watch Law and order because this was his response to my selection process: "I have also seen your posting on [another web page] as well. I understand someone may have posted it on other sites however, the fact to not review an applicant on those grounds I would think is not legal."

What? So it's illegal for me to select (or not select) a resume to review? Really??

That kind of crap right there makes you almost think "why bother?" Though I know you wouldn't, its just people like that who make the feeling become that.

Easy. "I did review your resume, and unfortunately, you did not meet the qualifications."
