Boeing Lounge MAX 10 FAA Certification

I Googled "737-10" and it told me "727."

The -10 carries over almost 100 more passengers.
The -10 can hold 45,000 lbs of fuel. The 727 is 71,000(!!).
The -10 has a MZFW max range of ~2,500 NM, the 727 (-200Adv with -17R engines) could go ~2,200 NM.
The -10 doesn't have an EICAS, the 727 doesn't have an EICAS (but it does still have CWS).
Touchscreen CDU, blech!

The MTOW is only ~3,000 lbs more than the 737-9, so it'll be interesting to see the tire margin at the hot, high airpots.

This thing is gonna go down in history as a turd. Cant do a transcon and frankenstein'd together

Well, at least several/some/one airlines are staking their growth plans squarely on this thing? :) I did think it was sort of creative to presumably strip them down, not capitalize on the pax count potential, and instead stretch the leg room and add lie-flats for quasi international premium. That could actually be how you get some juice that is worth the squeeze, provided there is a market for it at whatever price point that will command.

It’s a complete disaster. We went from waiting for nearly 5 years for 12 extra seats to now doing transcons with a 2500NM aircraft for 80-100 premium customers with lie flat beds? Ditching 88 seats?

Cant wait to fuel stop and wake ever single premium customer because the weather is bad on the East Coast.

The irony if it turns out we should have been taking 8s and 9s all along…

You probably don't need to worry about it since your downgrade is coming any day now.

I hadn't heard the range issues previously, but I don't pay a lot of attention either. Do you think that the seat count reductions (aside from what I'd presume is extra weight for lie flats vs upright 1C seats) are to ensure a ZFW configuration that will support them flying wrong-way transcons without tech stops?

What city pairs are the biggest challenge for the -10MAX?

(not a guppy guy)

I mean, the payload-range charts for the MAX 9 and MAX 10 are pretty similar, just with a little extension for the higher MTOW. Most operators are probably going to go with the same 27k rating like most have done for the MAX 9 as well.

Buuut they also gave it that trailing link gear out of concern for takeoff rotation behavior, so I dunno.

The MAX is second place in my mind compared to the Airbus A32xNEO (tho Airbus is starting to cram ridiculous amounts of updates in that platform like Boeing did), but I'm also not looking for a reason to hate on it.

Runway hog.. got it.
So contaminated runways are now even more interesting?

(I can't imagine the takeoff run)

Is there a pitch limitation on takeoff?
I don’t actually know, but with a heavier airplane and the same wing and engines as the Max 9 it’s gotta be worse right? Thats physics?

Supposedly with the trickery in the landing gear (which I still don’t understand, and I’m not a dummy when it comes to landing gear, having rebuilt multiple landing gear systems from the ground up) the pitch behavior on takeoff/landing is the same as the -9.
