Couple things:
The media saying "Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370..." is quickly becoming one of my pet peeves. It's '"Malaysia Airlines Flight 370" or "MH370"... NOT BOTH DAGNABBIT.
Omg same here lol! Along those lines it drives me crazy when I see something with -- Dr. John Smith, M.D. It's either Dr. John Smith.... OR John Smith, M.D. (Or PhD, or whatever). Not both. Maybe that means he's like, double doctor-y. I usually see that on infomercials and magazine ads for weight-loss/muscle-building "supplements" where they try to make their product seem legit because a "Dr." endorses it. Hmm..If that's my biggest problem today than I'm doing pretty well
And contributing to Jetcareers' second longest thread...
I saw a headline today that said, "Missing MH370: Plane drama fuels aviation security rethink". It was from The Star Online, so.... :::how do I make a pile of poop emoji:::
Before I read it I was like WTFOMGAHHHH... like, maybe the thing just had some catastrophe and crashed - let's not have another TSA debacle before anything is even known. Same things many of you are saying about the media - no one knows anything so it automatically is intentional/pilot suicide/hijack??? Geez.
But I skimmed the article and it was that there will be suggestions for enhancing tracking coverage for planes in emergencies that forces it beyond the reach of conventional radar systems. Also saying there will be an examination of the kind of recording technology, how they are designed, and how long they can last. And discussion about live satellite streaming for constant monitoring.
Uh... ok. (BTW, I half-plagiarized and half-paraphrased all that.)
It wasn't clear who suggested this - seemed like some editorial but crappier than the MSM. Reminds me of the logic of, 'Ya know the stuff they make the black box out of, that can survive a plane crash and post-crash fire - well why don't they make the whole plane out of that??' derrrrr...
Unfortunately, much like most other things in life, you can't completely remove every single possible fathomable element of risk, nor save people from themselves.
