Luggage Works or Wal-Mart?

If you work at SkyWest, get the Costco bag!. Their pilots seem to love those. ha

I had a TravelPro my 7.5 years at a regional. The handle broke twice, the telescoping handle broke once, and I had to replace the wheels. The grand total of those fixes were about 50 bucks. Some was while it was under the two year warranty, so the stopoverstore took care of it for free and while i waited. The wheels WILL go bad. but thats a cheap fix, and once you get the rollerblade wheels on it, you wont ever have to replace them again. The LW bag is very nice, but pricey. My $130 travelpro did fine for me. Some of my friends would make fun of my "flight attendant" bag, haha, but it did its job and i had an extra 120 bucks in my pocket compared to the LW peeps.

on this post so it must have "hit home" with some of us! :)

I'm not an airline pilot. I usually load my own bags into a private jet. So when I say my 50 dollar Sampsonite bag as lasted for 10 of 10 years of flying professionally I know it doesn't really count.

However, if you leave your regional and go to a 135 or 91 operator with airplanes that don't destroy luggage leave that awful POS LW bag at home. Seriously. As a courtesy I will load a crew members bag they are busy or inside and I am preflighting but if it is a LW bag I won't touch it.

…and then I got numb!

Are you even old enough to know who Public Enemy was? ha!

I love Public Enemy. The new stuff is pretty cool but I've always been thrown off by Flav. I still have my Terminator X tapes stashed somewhere along with the Too Short and a bunch of other goodness. It was fun liking rap when people made fun of you for it because Guns N Roses, Def Leopard and Poison were so cool. Heh.

Old school.

Welcome, friend!

I keep waiting for the "An now, the million dollar question, 'What does EPMD' stand for?" moment. :)

Certainly you've gotten a rental car with satellite radio? Just checked in here: http://www.siriusxm.com/backspin

OH and look at what is on!

Now Playing: Salt-N-Pepa - Push It ('88)

Oh snap!

Sadly, I was a freshman in college when that song got über popular. I still remember driving the Chevrolet Beretta down to the taco truck to pick up a carne asada burrito during winter break from riddle with the bass on max.

@MikeD has ridden in the Beretta!

I've had to drive the Beretta a good number of times, if you remember.......so people would get to where they needed to go safely on the weekends.

Other than the frame having been bent at some point shortly after I got it, my LW Stealth looks brand new after 4mos. I imagine it will continue to look fairly good, since I drive to base. Highly recommend it, It's been awesome so far.

So because it's heavier than other bags it's automatically a POS? Yes, it's heavy, but it's built like a tank. You're right though, if I flew corporate, I probably wouldn't carry it with me any longer...
