Life at Compass

After stalking this thread I've determined that I should quit flying and open a hostel in Eagan for training Compass pilots... All the places you guys are talking about are about a 2 minute drive from where I live! Standing invitation to any of you guys to grab a beer and help show you around the metro area if you need it. There's also a cub foods right down 35E on top of a ton of restaurants and strip mall type shops. Feel free to PM me if you guys have any questions about the area!
 
so, WWJCD? stay in DTW with a 1 hr commute or go to LAX and be bidding top 65% but have a 5+ hr commute?
 
Don't rule out MSP. It's more senior than LAX, but that's a lot less commuting.

Did they ever get back to you about the mil 500PIC per FARs?

could have gotten it last award.....but doesnt matter now, 10 FOs being displaced from there, but i dont want to be on perma reserve...they did not, but based on all the upgrade emails that go out that specifically say
All pilots awarded a Captain position must prove that they meet the 1000 hours of SIC time per
the FARs and upgrade requirements outlined in Section 24 D of the CBA
i think its going to count....y u no answer my text from a few days ago?

Also, Captain Upgrade Minimums are in section J of Section 24. 2500TT/1000turb or 2000TT/1500turb. The copy of the contract I have is 1 May 14, so if there's a newer edition let me know. There's no mention of the FAR117 or 1000 pt 121 SIC in my copy of the contract.

hence why it says meet company mins and FAR mins.......u aite tho
 
halfway...we can only credit 500 of mil PIC to meet the 1k 121 SIC requirement, so even with 1k+ mil PIC you only get credit for 500
That is correct. I just didn't have time to type that, basically whatever is required per the new ATP regs and 2500TT.

@ian, just because MSP is shrinking, you never know between the upgrades, you could slide into MSP. Or you could stay in DTW.
don't think i could get into MSP now with (10), i'd be the bottom guy there now if i were able to get in...i'd be able to stay in DTW but i'd much rather fly than sit ready reserve....just gotta figure out how many of the bottom lines in LAX are CDOs i think

I wouldn't get too worked up, there are several in DTW that will be upgrading, the reason for the "displacement" is so they don't have to backfill the people leaving.

You may not gain a bunch of people below you, but no FOs are getting booted out of DTW anytime soon.

I think they run a preliminary award to see how many FOs will upgrade from each base and shrink by about that amount.
