Life at Compass

Will you be at NJC next week?
Unfortunately no... I'm actually not flying/working at all that week but I'm right smack dab in the middle of remodeling a large portion of my home:

...Gutted the kitchen yesterday and today we are framing the walls to the ceiling, doing some electrical work, and gutting the guest bath today.

Possible to get whatever you want really. May take a couple bids but they will be running weekly soon so it won't take long.

Looks like @ian got what base he wanted right off the bat. Looks like new hires are getting what they want before returning from home study and Captain is now down to 12/12 hires.Captain Alternates down to 7/13-8/13 hires. Lots of movement!

yeah i bid msp, dtw, lax......now i'm having second thoughts on whether its better to commute to lax for a line or dtw to sit reserve......grass is always greener right?

Good! He can come sit my ready shifts!!!

How long should one expect reserve in DTW?

Well, I showed up in July and I don't have any hope of holding a line until January. There's the very real possibility that I'll go from a reserve FO to a line holding captain.

So, I'd expect to never get off reserve.

For a while. DTW is the most stagnate of the bases. Now that flow is starting, movement will increase, but for the last 4-5 months, the movement in DTW has been minimal.

Also don't plan on on a upgrade to DTW anytime soon, unless something drastic changes, look for 12/12 hires to likely be the plug for DTW CA.

Congrats on DTW! I saw in the realignment award you are only 7 away from MSP, if you are still thinking about there.

Yeah i'm thinking I will if i get the offer. Trying to wrap my head around this study guide and all of these Delta Questions. I'll be commuting from Chicago so LAX doesn't sound that great. Just hoping that the upgrade window is still within Feb. Harder to tell with Compass.
