Life at Compass

Or when a certain APD gives you a 50 knot crosswind until about 100 feet and then it suddenly goes to 0 in MSO. That one is fun...

Remind SA to say "Out of Windshear!" loudly as soon as the warning disappears. Maybe whack you on the back of the head too, as a reminder.

That bugger accelerates like a rocket at Max and if you stay on the flight director and are a tad slow getting the thrust out you'll get "High Steve" in a heartbeat.

And remember to turn to 180 so you miss the mountain.

Don't ask me how I know all this. :-)

Cats out of the bag, looks like I have RH for the LOE. Getting close...! So (nervously) ready to be done.

He did a couple of my events when I was there, and I really felt that he was one of the most fair/realistic/common sense kind of guys I'd ever had in training.

Sweet! He did my SV and was pretty straight forward, no nonsense kind of guy. The while training program is like that actually.

Congrats again on your success here in training! I am sure we will see you soon out in LA, and I believe I flew with one of your siblings today too :)
Haha! No way?

She's having a blast. I'm so proud of her. See you out there and thanks for the nice words.

Just curious, how does Compass' operating costs compare to other regional carriers (Skywest, eagle, endeavor, Mesa, etc...) Are there any good resources to find this info?

Anyone have any info or literature regarding the tax responsibility for pilots doing majority of their flying in California?

I asked my tax guy and he said he only knows tax laws for Florida. Was hoping someone on here might know would know the deets bc that union email was pretty vague
Unless someone knows California tax law on here I would seek an accountant in California. The email was vague I think to encourage this practice.

I can't remember which forum it was posted in, but it said something along the lines of if 50% or more of your flights for the year were in CA, then u were subject to tax. If not you are fine.

But as always seek an accountant if you want to be sure.

This...hopefully you're not doing LAX-SFO legs all day...otherwise you owe CA for the privilege of working there!
