Life at Compass

A friend in training recently said SEA was rumored.
Shut up you don't have friends. You must have gotten that info from your Craigslist missed connections source.

But that is the rumor as we all know...

Just heard recently ( last week or so) that whatever was supposed to be the additional crews in Lax above the 45 already announced, would be going to this new mystery base that smells like Salmon and Starbucks. Forgot to tell you that one, pure rumor though so don't freak out just yet.

Fwiw I'm beginning to think that these base closure rumors (especially the msp one) are mostly coming from people on the outside wishing for something...

MSP isn't going anywhere, but definitly shrinking. DTW, while smaller, is staying for a while too as they keep saying in company newsletters. Not saying they would say otherwise, but why say it's staying at all if they plan to close it, they would just not say anything.

The SEA rumor started after the AFA mentioned it in one of their emails to the FAs...

The AFA! Now that is a reliable source . I have a hard time believing that this will be a 4 base airline with 36 airplanes. 9 a/c per base just doesn't jive with me. But what do I know, I haven't even flown in 6 weeks!

Um, don't you have 42 airplanes? Not that it makes much difference with the point you make..

Word on the street is even our CP is saying it. Haven't heard that one my self but people are talking about it.

A bunch of the FAs in dtw were talking about it 4-6 weeks ago, right after the lax announcement. Just saying where it started. CP talking about it is interesting though....

All wifey asks about are flight bennies (sorry honey, I still have no idea what they are or how they work) and all my pilot buddies ask about is what I'm going to bid (I have no idea how that works either, but judging by how much time folks spend on it it's apparently important) and where we fly (where ever the thing needs to go, I assume.)

Me, I'm just worried about surviving training and not making a complete fool out of myself out on the line.

Hell, I don't even have a clue what color the uniforms are. Blue? Black? Grey? Pink? Beats me. I'd wear a clown suit to work for all I care.

I am obviously going about this airline thing all wrong. :-)

What route do you fly?!

I'll help you a little bit ;)

Benefits are $50 a year, obviously standby. We get S3C priority, mainline is S3 and retirees are S3B so they go ahead of you. Priority within each goes by Date of Hire.

You can bid MSP, DTW or LAX. Most likely you will get LAX or MSP

Black and Gold

Black and Gold

Oooh, Sounds snazzy. I think pink would totally rock though. :-)

Sorry, I'm a little loopy. Just finished up my final trip as a freight dog. Up at 0200 for a 0300 show and into Sioux Falls around 0500. Grabbed a few hours of sleep at the hotel, hung out all day then back to Anoka at 1820. Grabbed something to eat and a BIG cup of coffee then left for DPA around 2115. Shut down at 0108 and that was that.

Been a brutal month. :-)
