Life at Compass

Amazing that one could be so anal about a hat after a "phase" that led to this....

Just read this a few pages back, and surprising to me. Seniority for bidding on bases is based upon age and not DOH? I figured the age wouldn't matter, just how long you were with the company.

Hey Folks,

Looks like I'll be joining you as well Jan 2. I heard rumors that they would be hard up for sim time, and class may start more than 30 days after orientation. Anybody have any more info on that? Thanks.

We bought 50% of a new sim down in STL, should be up and running in Feb. Subject to change of course but it sounds like the sim situation is solved, on paper atleast so far...

Well that sounds promising at least. Couple more things. Any word on the class size? And, what's the dress code for orientation day? I'm guessing business casual, but my last civ job was waiting tables in '04 so I'm not really sure.

Any DTW new-hires go through lately? Just wondering when in the process they get us set up with SIDA and a parking pass. Cheers.

You'll have to visit the base manager or chief pilot in person to get the paperwork signed for a SIDA badge. Don't know about parking since I never had one.

After new-hire orientation you will receive your company badge, and then you will need to setup a meeting with the base manager or chief pilot. The base manager is around much more then the chief pilots. Make sure you also bring all the proper identification, and verify with either the base manager or the chief pilot before you show up!

After the paper work is signed, you take the shuttle to the north terminal where the Airport Authority office is located to start the process. After the paperwork plus the TSA exam, it should take a week or two to receive your SIDA badge.

Also, your SIDA badge is your parking permanet. The quicker you can start the SIDA process the better off you will be especially if your a Detroit native. Hope this helps answer your questions
