Life at Compass

The FOs with whom I fly continue falling victim to the Lipton Prankster. It's all new FOs. I think the experienced people simply avoid that cover. One of them turned to me and asked, "What does this mean?". By some minor miracle I was able to maintain positive control of my facial expressions. I haven't encountered the Issac prank yet.

Is there any validity in the talk of shrinking the CPZ Seattle base when SkyWest gets the rest of their E jets (I know it's all rumor mill, and I heard it from my SKYW friends, but I thought I would still ask).

I also have an interview lined up for July 11th. I have been reviewing the study guide. Anything else I should be aware of?

My somewhat neighbor who just moved in is a Skywest 175 Captain and he said they have been told that they will have Delta 175 flying in SEA. Take that info with a grain of salt though.

It was announced the first three are SEA and all 18/19(?) are for "west coast flying". Whatever that means. Anything beyond that is a rumor.

What? This is one of "those" rumors, right?

Not sure, just what I heard.

What IS true, is that Skywest and Compass are going to be doing a slot swap between DTW and LAX. With Skywest being a primarily west coast airline, and Compass wanting to return to its midwest roots, the company's were able to work with the DOT to make this happen. Personally, I'm looking forward to all the Buffalo overnights coming back.

Expect an announcement to happen in 6-8 weeks, I heard it straight from a check airman after their last meeting.

Interesting. I wouldn't mind doing some more midwest/east coast flying. At least the terrain has a color other than brown out there.

just curious then as to why SKW is opening/opened (?) at DTW base...? Will that be for more of their 200 flying vs us doing the longer routes?

I think it'll be a return to what compass used to do. There used to be lots of ORD turns out of DTW and whatnot.

I heard they're gonna make @BlueMoon the base chief pilot. Personally, I'm looking forward to working for him.
