Life at Compass

Where'd you hear about this new check in procedure? I know it has technically been required, but I can't imagine the chaos in the crew room with only three computers here that all lag. I'd say that cuts into our rest time due to having to show up to another terminal early enough to check in. That's an additional 30minutes if there is no wait for a computer and everything is working.
Also I do not see SAP

I will be emailing the union and chief pilot about the check in procedure stating that it is unreasonable, and a waste of time. I would check in from my phone, but going to the crew room requires additional time. If they want that duty put the extra time on my pairing. Showing up early for that eats into rest time, especially in LAX. I would urge others to voice their concerns to the company as well, and not just on the forum.
I would understand if there have been issues related to this, but at least allow us to check in from our own device.

Amen.

Skw makes us do this garbage but at least we can do it from our phone or call CS to do it if you dare.

The guidance in the PRF is to report to the crew room. So do that, then walk over to the nest, try to get out on time (but you probably won't) and you've done what you have been asked to do by the company. It's not on us to fix the silly mistakes they make.

They did put computers in the nest room but that's not the point....
I was referring to T6 and T5. Either way, it's just not a good system for checking in because our flying is as scattered as it could be. I don't think anyone out there is most scattered across airport terminals than us right now.

I wouldn't be surprised if this policy change was triggered by inflight, not flight ops.

Before you send a letter to the CPO why don't you reach out to the union. They are there to channel the frustrations of the pilot group. Sending the email might end up having you brought in to "discuss" the tone of your email. You don't need to deal with that.

As @frog_flyer said this will most likely be reworded or rescinded in short time. Please send your concerns to CPZMEC@ALPA.org they will be able to help you I'm sure.

Like everything there is much more to the story. The union will be discussing this next week with the CPO so I've been told. ;)

Email sent....still wont be reporting to the crew room before report time unless um being paid for it

I'm going back and forth with the union on this... Nobody seems to understand the 117 guidance as it's much to vague...

Who determines what the rest period is? x hrs prior to next scheduled assignment? I'd say I'm in rest the second I'm released from duty. Block in +15/

@amorris311 thank you for the guidance! I appreciate it. Will do.

And @ian I second your idea. Doesn't seem right to be required to do something without being paid for the time
