Life at Compass

Required minimum line value

Yeah, I get that and how it works, I just think it's weird that they tell everyone that they aren't raising the floor in November, but when all is said and done only one line was created in LA that had less than 80 hours (79.06 hours). I went through it again and found another 5 that were between 80-90 hours. All the other bases have a pretty good spread, but LAX got hosed this month. Looking at the FO side, it looks like they faired much better with fewer lines. Oh well, it is what it is.

There should be at least one line at 75 hours. Outside of that the company can make everyone else 90-95 hrs. I still can't comprehend why the company is so stupid and ever raises the floor. Doing that only buys them one more line greater than 75 hrs and now they're paying 125% for all added trips. Oh well.

For those prospective new hires. Current route structure.

You'd think CPZ would have a base in SLC by now.

Hey, the SkyWest dude over on APC is saying that SKW is taking over the Delta LAX flying because of the poor CPZ on-time performance...so you never know where that flying will shift to, hehe.

APC rumor mill, hehe:

Just heard from a pretty good source. Some/most will go to LA, same with the UA order and...........potentially Alaska 175's and or 700's. Sounds like they were right when they told the LA peeps not to worry about the Eagle airplanes. Good news for them if it works out.

A Delta expansion in LAX or is CP getting the boot?

CP=Boot. I was told this by the same person who knew about the AE LA/PHX switcheroo, the 4 DL 900's and the UA order a few months before it was announced. I don't go through LA often but apparently gate space is a huge issue, on time performance is important. I was also told that there is a new crew area being built in the DL terminal for OO. Who knows, but I tend to believe this person. Good new for the LA people stirred up over the AE 200's if it all comes true.

They said SLC (DL, duh) and DEN (UA) for the rest of those 175's. Again, who knows.........

Well... SKYW just got a brand new order for 19 shiny 175's. Marked for Delta, so could be true.

Skywest operates in and out of 6 delta hubs. That they're coming to take over one specific operation, for one specific regional, tells me that nobody actually knows what they're talking about.

For all we know they'll base them in MSP and CPZ will close that base.

Everyone has bad on-time performance in LA. Us, Skywest, DL.

But, please! Get us out of LA. Let's all go to Seattle or SLC. I wouldn't mind. :)
