Layover food

Jesus, I didn't take pictures but do domestic hell holes count?

Because I was delightedly surprised by a BBQ place in DAY called City BBQ. Really quality food and not too expensive.

They 100% count. I have had some of the best burgers in some of the strangest places.

Indoc early 2012 in Burlingame, CA. Class mates were discussing where to eat lunch.

Me: "What's In-N-Out Burger?"

Of our class of 8, 7 heads turned towards me. Lunch was had at said burger joint. It was glorious.

Even today in Torrance, every night the drive through line at In-N-Out is about 2 miles long.

Cultural! I never knew who the heck Jimmy Buffet was until I was almost 30.

No way can I eat at 4 or 5 am waking up. I don’t even know my name that early in the morning.

And then the van ride at 445am, chatty Cathy is going at it. And then a “you’re quiet this morning!”

Oh no, it’s not that I’m a quiet person. It’s just 445 in the friggin morning. See how it’s still dark and the sun isn’t up? That’s god’s way of saying this is shut up time.

One of my first WTF memories from Eskimo was getting down to the lobby of the Baranof Hotel in Juneau at the 0400 show time. The hotel was a dump and it was almost impossible to get a good nights sleep there. The A FA didn’t even introduce herself and only said “do you have a flight time?” She didn’t ask nicely either.

Literally the point of the thread.

"Yeah we depart in 75 minutes"

From a distance, I initially read that as Toronto Maple Bacon.

Zero experience with bacon here, but why do I have a feeling that could actually be a real thing? :)

Anyone on a Midway layover, Giodonno’s. Highly recommend.

Finally understand why pizza is called a “pie”….get the small.
