Spanish Hills already whines and complains about the piston traffic. Imagine when they start to complain about all the Turbo jet traffic closing SMO would bring. They've already shortened the runway at CMA years ago. Not to mention there is already a curfew in place at CMA. Closing SMO would bring more noise complaints from people with big money from the surrounding area to CMA. All it would accomplish is moving the comaints to another city. Which would be your city.
