King Air short of the runway KPWK

"king air 9 sugar pop".

STOPITT! STOPITT!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAiiiiiiegh! :)

Granted, I also have a bizarre pet peeve for wanting to strangle people that use "Oh" instead of "Zero" as in "Three Five OH"

If the Brits would be ridiculed for using "Flight level Three Five Nil", we should for "Three Five OH".

I think we should be able to use "climb flight level three hundred" in the States. Class up the joint. :)

"Climb flight level three hundred, course direct SUVAX Upper-Lima 687 call you back.... Eassyyyyyyyy four nineteen call Brest on one three fife decimal four two five!" Ha! FLASHBACKS

"92JR AIN'T GUNNA MAKE IT!!"

What?

He says that 4 times before ATC finally deciphers and realizes that he'll be landing short.

I agree. Really didn't help himself there with the accent.

"Dayum... Gunnerputitondaroad."

Seriously? Between the repeated "92JR AINGUNMAEKIT" calls and this one, I'm not entirely surprised he ran out of fuel. Hard to expect someone to be professional enough to put adequate go juice on board when they don't have even basic radio etiquette down, much less basic English.

I doubt radio etiquette was high on his priority list. I also listened to approach. The tape I found only had ATC and I couldn't hear 92JB reply but I didn't hear anything that sounded urgent. I wonder if he realized he was that low on fuel.

Are we sure everybody walked away? Has pilot confirmed he ran out of fuel? I don't want to jump the gun (again) and suggest this might have been preventable. I'll play it safe until the NTSB has wrapped up their investigation.

Am I the only one that expected to see a King Air in the weeds, just short of the runway?

Incidentally, London Control was the only place in the world where we'd be called "Omni Express" at the last job.

Yeah, THAT will class it up. ;)
I still drop a "decimal" in domestically once in a while. :)

Whats wrong with saying Sugar? oh and the pilot sounded like Boomhower on king of the hill. did i say i like boobies also.
