KCM

I never disputed that our senior guys ratified every one of those agreements that negatively impacted my career. On the contrary if you re-read my post I closed by saying that all politics are local - even Union politics and that it was the people in power locally who were responsible.

The "I got mine" philosophy was alive and well. No, there were no overlords directing the agenda, but there was also no guidance from the national officers to get everybody steering their ships in the same direction. ALPA's - yes big ALPA - biggest failure was completely losing control of scope. That's about the only thing I blame national for.

(Well, I'll go ahead and argue that age 65 in the middle of the biggest mass furlough in airline history was an "oopsie daisy!" moment too!)

So am I allowed to have an opinion? or should my default position be to just agree with whatever Seggy - who I've never met and don't know from Adam -says despite the real world experiences I've had over the last twenty or so years?

@Seggy I went through KCM this morning. Your welcome.

Also I bet you at least a coffee and a kick in the nuts you don't say a damned thing to your FA's as you saunter though the KCM line. You are a passive aggressive, all or nothing ALPA kool-aid drinker.

Give it a rest, You and ALPA lost this fight, which was never a fight until you made it one.

Of course you are allowed to have an opinion. That doesn't make it right though.

Guess what, others on here have had real world experiences and they are different than yours. Deal with it.

Ok internet tough guy......

A few points. I conduct myself where my actions do back up my words. Do you? Doubtful. I felt we needed a union at Colgan. I joined the organizing committee. This action 'awarded' me threats with my job and my future in the profession that I love. When you say things that I am 'passive aggressive' it shows you don't have a damn clue who I am. There are those who know me on here, some of what I have been able to accomplish (they wouldn't have been accomplished if I was 'passive aggressive') and I don't need to prove myself to you.

Getting KCM implemented WAS a fight. You are naive if you think otherwise and shows what you don't know. Not every entity was even close to doing the work ALPA was doing to try to get it implemented. If more were involved early on then maybe that money ALPA used to get it implemented could have been used elsewhere. ALPA isn't perfect, I get that, but it is a great organization for the profession and does a hell of a lot more than other entities out there.

It's Christmas (almost) let's give it a rest.

But, But......

I've always admired your courage to stand up at Colgan, even if I disagree that we need to keep a tally on the work part. If the industry conditions encouraged everyone to share the load under one voice, I suspect this would become an argument about whether "just paying dues" is enough. Sometimes it is.

ALPA is not interested in representing all 121 pilot groups.

Last year, AnimalTailsAirlines(tm) had a representation drive. Some pilots contacted ALPA requesting they throw their hat in the ring. Capt. Moak himself said "No Thanks".

I would really like to work at an ALPA-represented carrier and have worked very hard to make that happen, but no call yet.

I guess in the meantime, I will have to live with being called a freeloader. Thank you to my hopefully future ALPA bretheren for this service...
