We've stayed at Luxor, Excalibur, Treasure Island, MGM and Hawthorne Suites & got married in Mandalay Bay (couldn't stay tho cuz it is quite a bit more expensive)...
If anyone wants to bunk together - I'd suggest hawthorne cuz they have a bed and a sofa bed + kitchen for around $115 per night (good for 4 at least - and plenty of floor room for sleeping bags for more)... it's walking distance to the corner intersection where MGM/New York New York is... AND they also give free hot breakfast which is definately a plus!!
Treasure island is nice - but smells funny after a while.. although i'd rate their buffet best and luxor's 2nd...
Excalibur is also a good price and the rooms really aren't that bad either....
I'd say if anything, we should all stay within that area of the strip because to stay anywhere else will either require a car or a long spendy cab ride to get to where we'll be at which is probably down on that end of the strip...I just enjoy being closer to those casino's better.... have found them to be more fun (esp the family feud game at MGM) and to offer "more bang for the buck".... cuz there's a plethera of casino's to walk to/choose from for fun - luxor, mandalay bay, excalibur, san remo, mgm, monte carlo, new york new york etc and all are at different price ranges to accomodate everyone...
also - new york new york has a good club (coyote ugly), mgm has studio 54 which is the bomb of clubs there, luxor has RA and mandalay bay has the best lounges!!! can you tell we've been to vegas a lot?
we could - if needed, block out a group of 10 rooms at the Hawthorne if anyone's interested in that...I've asked hawthorne about that before when we were making the ol wedding plans and they do do that type of thing whereas the other casino's require blocking a group of 200 rooms or more (for the big wigs)...
I do agree, that if we all want to really get together that "before the holidays" would be better than "before next year" which by then, interest would probably wane...
