Binnion's Horseshoe in downtown!
It's cheap and it's downtown away from all those tourists... wait

I say let's do it at the Bellagio on the 21, 22, and 23. Cause I hear there is this huge fight going on, and if we can black out the security system.....

No, seriously, I think that since that is the weekend before Thanksgiving, there will be a lot less competition for rooms and that we'll be able to get a better price. I also think that the flights will be less crowded for the same reason.

I don't care what hotel we stay at. I've had good experiences at the Treasure Island and the Mirage.

I have stayed at the luxor, MGM and venetian, and I think the Venetian is the nicest (all Suites) but for the price the Luxor is a pretty good deal..This is probably how it will look..

If you think I'm flying to Vegas from Ohio in a 172, you're dumb enough to get talked into doing it with me!

What a riot, I was looking to see if Marriott or Hilton had any place on the Strip vs downtown...

I like Treasure Island just because for the 2 times I've been (last year-year before last) it was cheap and you were able to get a sit down breakfast (like my breakfast
). Dont know though...we could just stay at a rather ordinary Marriot, Motel 6 (I saw a nicer new one one time in Vegas), etc...etc.

I sat next to Andrew Glazer on a flight from LAX - LHR. He was a really nice bloke and very interesting chap to speak to.

We've stayed at Luxor, Excalibur, Treasure Island, MGM and Hawthorne Suites & got married in Mandalay Bay (couldn't stay tho cuz it is quite a bit more expensive)...

If anyone wants to bunk together - I'd suggest hawthorne cuz they have a bed and a sofa bed + kitchen for around $115 per night (good for 4 at least - and plenty of floor room for sleeping bags for more)... it's walking distance to the corner intersection where MGM/New York New York is... AND they also give free hot breakfast which is definately a plus!!

Treasure island is nice - but smells funny after a while.. although i'd rate their buffet best and luxor's 2nd...

Excalibur is also a good price and the rooms really aren't that bad either....

I'd say if anything, we should all stay within that area of the strip because to stay anywhere else will either require a car or a long spendy cab ride to get to where we'll be at which is probably down on that end of the strip...I just enjoy being closer to those casino's better.... have found them to be more fun (esp the family feud game at MGM) and to offer "more bang for the buck".... cuz there's a plethera of casino's to walk to/choose from for fun - luxor, mandalay bay, excalibur, san remo, mgm, monte carlo, new york new york etc and all are at different price ranges to accomodate everyone...

also - new york new york has a good club (coyote ugly), mgm has studio 54 which is the bomb of clubs there, luxor has RA and mandalay bay has the best lounges!!! can you tell we've been to vegas a lot?

we could - if needed, block out a group of 10 rooms at the Hawthorne if anyone's interested in that...I've asked hawthorne about that before when we were making the ol wedding plans and they do do that type of thing whereas the other casino's require blocking a group of 200 rooms or more (for the big wigs)...

I do agree, that if we all want to really get together that "before the holidays" would be better than "before next year" which by then, interest would probably wane...

[/ QUOTE ]Just got back from Vegas on Thurs, stayed in a comped suite at the Venetian (incredibly nice rooms!). Went to Studio 54 on Tues night, which, being a weeknight, you'd assume would have sucked. Hardly. As luck would have it, Finnish uber-dj Darude was onstage that night, and it was frickin' PACKED! I'd heard some of Darude's stuff before, it's great stuff. We got there about 12:45 (am), I had to go back to the Venetian to change (they're serious about their dress code, bastards), and Darude went on around 2:30. We left around 4 am. It was awesome.

Uhhh... try that again? haha J/K
doug's gonna want his own room - that much i know!!!

but next door is a perfect place to be! haha

yes - MGM's studio 54 is always very serious about their dress code.. the time we went there, it was with a bachelorette party and one of the girls had on boat shoes - little white shoes that tie like tenny's do - I would have thought they'd be plenty dressy since we were a bachlorette party - but they wouldn't let us come in just because of that...unfortunately, they didn't take any of our money that night cuz we weren't going to go back to the hotel just to change her shoes!!!!

but anyways...
