JetBlue Window to Reopen

Window is not open, yet. Have some patience folks. It will be open for a week, let's not crash the web site.

I'm assuming without an internal rec and past 121 experience that I don't have a snowballs chance.
I have extensive Part 121 and can probably get over a hundred letters of recommendation from JetBlue pilots. But I always reapply and never get the call. So it can work either way.

Well, they never did say *when* it would open on the 31st.

EDIT: Doh. Weird timing there.

IIRC, the e-mail we got said evening on the 31st, but just not a hard time for when "evening" was.

If you applied last time, you'll have to re-apply for the new job posting this time around. This has been pretty standard based on the last few times the window has opened. They also ask for LORs to be uploaded with the application. So, if you've got guys writing LORs that are at B6, get them to write them for you and upload them with the app.

Thanks for posting!

Just another word of warning about the online app website - it WILL NOT save your progress unless you click "Save and Finish Later", give it a name, and click submit.

Clicking "Next" to proceed in the app DOES NOT save your previous entries.

So, to be safe - after each page click "Save and Finish Later", give it a name, hit submit.

I know someone mentioned it before, but just a reminder. It can be a bit frustrating when you lose all of your progress. Not that I would know first-hand or anything... :D

The question about living within 2 hours of a base spooked me a little bit. Any intel on whether that's a "filter" for applicants?

Thought that was an odd question also....but oh well. If they are going to require relocation to live within 2 hrs of domicile then it is not the place for me. Boston would be the only place I would ever consider moving my family to.

Oh come on! Flushing Queens is considered to be Palm Springs of New York.

They don't require relocation. Apparently they consider where you live as an indicator of whether you might leave to go to a major. For instance, if you live in the ATL, you may come here for just long enough to get hired by Delta. But if you live in Boston, you're likely to stay for the long haul.

I don't think it's a deal breaker. It's just metrics they collect.

Interesting. I was kind of skeptical bc I would think that making that kind of requirement would be a downfall for a major airline when at min 50 percent of the employees commute.
