JetBlue captain subdued after pounding on cockpit

Very interesting occurrence. Obviously VERY early in the "what the heck happened" stage, so I have to withhold judgements til we get some more info. If the F/O was so certain the CA needed to stay off the flight deck, I have to think he had a darn good reason for it... it's not something any F/O would do without a really serious reason. Am very curious to find out what happened.

Maybe the FO was crazy and set the Captain up.....wanting to finally get some PIC time for himself.

Maybe the FAs spiked his soda pop.

You mean you aren't going to rush to judgement without the entire story on what's likely a complex set of events, like many in the Florida shooting thread in the Lav?

Whatever, sucker. There's not enough judgment to go around. Early bird gets the worm!

Wow. Another crazy crewmember issue at Jetblue after the cursing slideout flight attendant some months ago. All this on the heels of the incident of the incoherent rambling flight attendant at American some weeks ago. Hopefully this crazy crewmember situation is not becoming a trend.

Good God...

Geez, can you imagine being a pax and having to react to a uniformed on-duty pilot (and a 4 striper at that!) going bat crazy right in front of your very eyes?! Extreeeeemly unsettling. And good on the FO for getting and keeping him out of the cockpit...
Hopefully the cpt gets his condition cleared up and finds gainful employment now that his medical is likely gone. Forever.

Shouldn't be gone forever. We have people with all sorts of self-admitted mental ailments posting in the flight surgeon forum about successful progress in getting their medicals eventually.
