Jet U ad in the Aug. 07 Flying

I'm pretty much old school...and maybe way behind the times...but after checking out those Myspace deals I know one thing for certain....if those guys don't get their a@@ kicked in the pilot briefing room, they are certain to get laughed out of town.

Grow up, become a man, become a professional, and leave the kid stuff in junior high.

Briefing room? What's that?

Even in the two years I've been in the right seat the mentality of new hires has changed. I can only imagine what it looks like from somebody with 10 or 20 years of seniority.

Then Plane & Pilot just picked up another subscriber.

Plane and Pilot is MUCH worse than Flying. At least in Flying it was obvious that the ad was, infact, and ad. In P&P they've started doing these 'profiles' of different academies (gulfstream had one recently) and the 'author' (none was listed IIRC) is a little less than objective. Look it up for yourself, these articles are towards the back when they do them.

It's a dispicable form of advertisement. They should have at least put a disclaimer that read along the lines of "GTA is a long time advertising client of P&P and this article was provided to us by GTA"

-Plus the literary quality of P&P has totally tanked in the past few years.

CRJ 200/700/900? Uh, PCL doesn't HAVE 700s. Last I checked that's where they were sending these guys. I also hate to inform them that .84 isn't cruise speed..... You're burning a LOT of gas going that fast, not to mention it'll take you 8 years to hit that speed after leveling off.

I definitely don't agree with either JetU or Gulfstream. But I think it is incredibly immature to post pics of people from their myspace and laugh at them.

Also, maybe I didn't look at their myspace profiles close enough, but I didn't exactly see any reference to them attending either Gulfstream of JetU. Again, I just thought this was different site than angrypilots.com over at flightinfo.

"Stay classy JC!"

Eh, you're probably right.

:yeahthat:

I actually don't blame Flying for running that ad. It's business. That's all money in the bank. I can't even imagine how much it cost to place that....

I don't get the myspace thing either. Anyone over the age of say, 23 shouldn't be on myspace nor should watch any 'reality television' on MTV. JMHO! ;)

Come on Max, people have been outed here before.......If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck......it's probably a duck.

Be careful you don't fall of your soapbox... ;)

I don't blame Flying for running the ad. They're in the business of making money, and selling ads is how they do it.

I blame JetU for creating such a misleading ad.
