I'm one of the "lucky" ones who qualify for the 1000hr ATP. Have the regionals begun hiring guys with the ATP-R below 1500hrs, or will I still have to build time to 1500 regardless?
The reason I'm asking: I'm working on my CPL. If I finish part 141, I'll have about 300hrs and qualify for the 1000hr ATP-R. If I just take a part 61 checkride at 250hrs, I won't qualify for the ATP-R, but I'll spend a lot less money getting my CPL. Will I regret getting my CPL part 61, because it would force me to build time to 1500?
Opinions welcome! Assume I'm broke.
